LET'S GET READY FOR STUUUUUUUFF

Dec 07, 2010 00:17

I should probably talk about life, work, and all that stuff, but really, I'm fairly certain you're all tired of hearing about it. XD Honestly, I haven't started at Brighton yet, and all I'm doing for Hickory Farms is standing at a mall kiosk selling cheese and sausage. The jokes just make themselves. Instead, I'm posting a few different meme-ish things, because why not?

The first actually isn't a meme - rather, someone told me to get on posting my list already, so I'm doing just that (minus the things I asked for and am reasonably sure my parents will get me - crock pot, bluetooth, etc). Nobody has to get me anything! At all! Ever! The list is just for the people who are inclined to do so.

~ One of these. I don't care which style - they're both very pretty - all I know is that this is pinging both my timepiece and necklace obsessions and making me go *A*
~ These pants. They are shiny. I love them. I have no idea if I'm a small or a medium. Stupid overpriced Disney merchandise. There's also a purse in this same patchwork material floating around somewhere - I just can't seem to find it.
~ Gift cards! Von's, Ralph's, Albertson's, AMC, GameStop, and Amazon, partially to take care of groceries and partially to take care of my entertainment desires. :Db
~ More importantly on the gift cards list, Brighton gift cards. I kind of have to wear Brighton pieces while I'm working there, and while I can earn them (we have a points system that does not affect/is not affected by hourly pay), I would like to be able to pay them off right away or to get a little something extra. I do love their stuff. :Db
~ A DVD copy of Muppet Christmas Carol. My VHS is functional but no longer practical.
~ Sophie Kinsella books that aren't the Shopaholic series. I much prefer her one-offs, and Can You Keep A Secret? and Undomestic Goddess are two of my favorites of hers. It's cotton candy lit and I love it.
~ For those same reasons, Donna Andrews' Meg Langslow mysteries. I already have Murder With Peacocks and Crouching Buzzard, Leaping Loon, and I'd love any others in the series, especially Revenge of the Wrought Iron Flamingos and We'll Always Have Parrots.
~ You know what authors I like, guys. Books are awesome. 8Db
~ Fic! Art! Icons! Fun artsy things that I am entirely incapable of creating myself! Again, you guys know what I like. ♥

So yes. That be the list. |Db

The second is that Year In Review meme that I think is awesome despite being simple and lacking in anything resembling context, because who needs context?

So yes: Take the first sentence (or two) from the first post of each month of 2010. That's your year in review.

January: Happy New Year from the Big Island! Pictures of the volcano to follow at some point.
February: It occurs to me that I should actually update this journal with something of substance: my daily goings-on, the details of that first date, or the next episode of the Randomizer (which will hopefully be up sometime tomorrow).
March: HOLY GAD you people create a lot of flist content in a scant four days.
April: The bluetooth works just fine.
May: Well, I have a diploma.

This is interesting.
June: Life's been ever so slightly crazy around here lately. Of course, that in general isn't any different than normal; it's just this particular breed of crazy is one I don't normally have to deal with.
July: First of all, hells yeah Kia's going to Anime Expo
August: Well, jedizero is officially moved into his new apartment and I am officially the Friend with the Big Car.
September: ...yeah, I'm not giving any spoiler warnings on this one.
October: I am back in Colorado for the weekend!
November: Today was just weird, man. I know I start a lot of entries like that, but this was just another one on the pile.
December: Got a call from my temp agent today. Turns out their email has a glitch or something, because those are the wrong hours - the job is, like I thought, from 10:30 to 4:30 or 5.

No, that's not a glitch in the May entry. That's the day I graduated. Weird how all this stuff goes, huh.

Finally, I love those Guess the Song From the Single Line of Lyrics memes. This one is entirely Christmas themed! Be warned: I love my obscure first and last verses and my obscure songs in general. Have fun. :D

1. I can see me now on Christmas morning creeping down the stairs
2. I'm dreaming tonight of a place I love
3. Way up in the sky, little lamb
4. Hail the new, ye lads and lasses
5. The sun will shine by day and all the stars at night
6. The blind will see; the deaf will hear; the dead will live again
7. There's never been such a day in Beverly Hills, L.A.
8. Now to the Lord sing praises all ye within this place
9. What's the sense in hurting my pride?
10. Brightly shone the moon that night

Like I said: I love my obscure songs and versions. Have fun~

And with that, this entry has officially gone on far too long. I will finish this up with one last thing:

Please feed my Rayquaza. He doesn't want to be lonely anymore.
