WELL WE CAN'T ALL BE ACUPUNCTURISTS!

PREEMPTIVE RAGE IS PREEMPTIVE 8D

...well, okay, it was entirely justified at the time, but life got better. :Db

So:

Let's start with a trip in the Way Back Machine (or the TARDIS, if you prefer a non-animated geeky reference) to October last year, when I was trying to figure out what I was going to do for my final semester at Pepperdine. I decided I was going to be a part time student, since my schedule would not allow otherwise and I only really needed four. I wound up with nine, and was warned that my university-provided scholarship would be prorated since I was not taking 12 units. I agreed.

In January, my parents and I paid the tuition that Pepperdine said I owed and we went on our merry way.

In May, I graduated. In June, I stopped checking my student email account, since nothing really goes there and I had graduated and, I thought, finished with Pepperdine.

On Sunday, I checked my student email on a whim, only to find out there had been "activity on my account." I checked, only to discover a charge of nearly $3000 including late fees and an explanation that they hadn't prorated my scholarship until July.

Let's recap: Paid in January. Adjusted in July.

This resulted in several days of calls back and forth between me and my mom and me and Pepperdine, where I got ping ponged back and forth between departments for twenty minutes at one point. I finally wound up leaving work fifteen minutes early today so I could physically go to the student accounts office and get things paid off. When I finally got to see a student accounts worker, she told me she had spoken with the dean and he had said that since they did the adjustments so late, especially after graduation, it was on them and they were waiving the entire charge. Instead of paying ~$3000, I paid $0.

Tell you what, that did wonders for my mood. XDb

So now I'm just kind of in 8D? mode. Life is good, despite that egg really not working out - found that out on Monday too, which was not fun - but right now, I'm just taking things easy and trying to get back on an even keel before figuring out what to do next.

For those of you going, "Yes, Kia, but what does this have to do with Mulan?" I do have an explanation! "WE CAN'T ALL BE ACUPUNCTURISTS!" is my key phrase when I'm mad as hell but don't have the time/inclination/appropriate filter to explain what that anger is about.

The more you know ~~~~~~~*
