Yes, I've already changed my LJ layout~. BUT! It's how I originally wanted it and I'm terribly, terribly pleased with it. It's clean, it's simple, and looks quite loverly, in my opinion. I was finally able to get those bloody screenshots and the codes from Weeb for the layout, originally created by
refuted, I just switched the colors up. If you wanna see what it originally looked like, view over at
nezure. The "KID/1412" was taken off Icka's Kaitou Kid page . . . I looked forever for that thing and about headdesked when I finally found it.
Nevertheless: HAPPY YAM. >>
See? Not much new with me . . . donated blood yesterday (what the hell do you tell the Red Cross when they say, "We're fresh out of O negative"?), then did a bit of writing, working on a Kid fic that's more of a guilty pleasure more than anything, though was sparked to life by the strangest of origins. Other than that, had freshman orientation at Millikin University a week ago . . . and um, yeah. And apparently I'm a semi-finalist list for a nation-wide (I think it is) scholarship! That was good news, though too tired when Mom called to tell me to be excited. Still, a possible of twenty grand in four years for tuition to a bloody expensive university . . . **fingers crossed**
Anywhoooo . . . came up with a meme!
Fandom has taken quite a beating lately, so it's time to give it back some love. Name your top three favorite fandoms and explain why you love them. It could be because of the communities on LJ, across the internet, or the fanfiction -- interpret how you wish! After you're finished, tag four people to do the same.
Fandom #1: Hellsing.
Why? Hands down. As far as group of people in a fandom go, I love these wackjobs. I honestly believe there is not a crazier group of fans out there for any fandom (crazy bunch of fans for a crazy manga-ka).
hellsing is probably one of the examples of what is a true community on LJ, despite how mean we are to each other sometimes, but there is a good number of members everyone knows by face by now or the name has been heard by just about everyone and a lot of these people are together at cons and it's not unusual for everyone to be throwing names around and memories. Then there's the crazy side where everyone says whatever the hell they want, pretty much do whatever they want, not to mention we get to eat trolls and the mod tags the posts so we can go back and laugh at it later. =D Everyone has nothing better to do with their time and there are those that spend a hundred comments making a Triangle Head cartoons. Some people find it disgusting, maybe appalling, but I can't help but find it hilarious that no matter how sick something is, how deranged, how twisted, gory, whatever, I can almost garuntee you there will be at least one comment that simply says something along the lines, "That's HAWT."
hellsing, I ♥ you.
Fandom #2: Death Note
Why? I haven't been active in this fandom very long, and at first I was a little nervous, as I am whenever joining any new fandom's communities, but these people from the beginning were very helpful, mature, and patient. Even the crack is funny, when Death Note is such a serious series. (Okay, should've mentioned Hellsing crack, but I think that's a given, considering the series.) It's a complicated series, and takes some brains to wrap your head around all of that, and I think the fans seem to fit into the mold of it. The active fans anyway. I'm not sure I've really seen anyone snarky as of yet, at least, no one unreasonably so. But possibly what is the kewlest about it is the shonen-ai fans. Even some of them admit they're just doing it because they like it but it's not likely in the show, that or they're just very calm about it in general. Even when they're fangirly. I dunno, but it's wow. I even like going on the Matt/Mello comm to look for things sometimes because of their behavoir. I think they're just a kewl bunch. And even if there's smut and stuff, somehow they still manage to keep that air about them. That last part applies for all the fandom as much as I've seen of it. Though the only experience I have is
death_note and
death_eyes, but still, good group.
Fandom #3: Hmmm . . . I torn between Yu-Gi-Oh! and Detective Conan, so I'll say a tie.
Why? The reason for the choice of Yu-Gi-Oh! is probably more along the lines of Hellsing and all the crack, particularly because of the comm
playthedamncard -- no one takes themselves seriously for liking the fandom. That and some of my first involvement in LJ and fandoms. And where I became aquainted with several of my close(st) friends. ♥ But the fandom does have its flaws/wank that have been joked to rival HP fandom (and it probably does), nevertheless, diehard fan. As for Detective Conan, again, where I met some very fun people, and one of my newest best friends~. And since my journal is decked out in Kaitou Kid, Magic Kaito/Detective Conan deserves a bit of love, yes. Most of the fans are pretty good, have steady heads on their shoulders. There are a few that are rather active that I wouldn't mind seeing their keyboards be confinscated though. **coughs**
[EDIT]Crap! Forgot to tag!! Ummm . . .
