Episode 8 -- Reason -- 2010.03.01

8/10

Why do people decide to do something?
Because they want to do the same things as their parents... Because they want to receive praise... Because they want to see someone smiling...
Because if someone tells them "thank you", they will be happy...
Everyone has their own reason, a reason that gives them a constant source of motivation...
But, when this reason is shaken... It results in a lot of pain...

Hiyama's case, there was a scene of interrogation.
Why did you remove the respirator?
Didn't you think about the interests of the patient? These questions were continuously pelted at Hiyama.
Because she couldn't save this child, she asked his mother for her final wish...
Because his mother said she wanted to hold him, Hiyama unplugged the respirator.
Even though it's better to get the consent form, Hiyama said, "At that kind of a moment, still asking the patient's family to sign forms, a doctor who can do this calmly is the one who is insane."
Maybe this could be true...
But as a doctor, asking her to sign is your responsibility, that is what I believe.
The patient's family is subjective and emotional, that's why the doctor must remain calm.
Insane is overly exaggerated, I believe that noone could make this kind of request calmly in that kind of situation.

But, after Hiyama has said all this, what does Tsubasa-kun's mother feel?
Is she still unsatisfied?
In that kind of a situation, do you really believe that Hiyama was a murderer?
Hearing Hiyama expressing her emotions this way, you don't have anything to say at all?
What Hiyama wants is your reaction, not your avoidance.
But honestly, there's no need to get to the point of "patient's are scary", right?
Are you the doctor for only this one patient?
Before this conversation, you had other goals too right?

Also, Haruka who is still in a state of grief
The mother who suddenly lost her daughter and couldn't accept it, it's not that I can't understand this.
But, Haruka's situation was completely different from this woman, wasn't it?
I've also had the experience of losing family members in an accident. Afterwards it was hard to believe, I kept crying.
But, with enough time to prepare, even though losing a loved one is very painful, you'll be able to properly see him off, right?
Before Satoshi passed away, Haruka had lots of time, right?
She always knew that one day they would have to part, right?
So even though it's not that she shouldn't be sad, it's dragging on a bit too long... I feel this way.
But everyone has their own opinions about this, so...

Fujikawa watches Haruka like this..
At first his stance was, "Hurry up and forget about the past and face the future".
But now it became, "It's okay if you don't force yourself to forget, I'll always be beside you."
I tink this is really good.
But, in this as well, everyone has their own way of doing things.. The pilot-sensei's strategy may not necessarily work.. Fujikawa, don't imitate it! (A/N: the pilot's girlfriend was the old girlfriend of his friend, and when he passed away, the pilot called her every single day for a year, and eventually they ended up together)
Ah, also, the mother who lost her daughter, it's better to recommend her a good psychiatrist... (A/N: since she keeps coming to the hospital, believing that her daugher is still alive)
She really seems like she can't come out of her grief.. (sweatdrop)

After the issue with Shiraishi's father, now is Tadokoro-sensei...
He is not young.. really shouldn't force himself to take on too much....
Hopefully it's simply exhaustion.. could it be a tumour...?? (tear)

Anyways, Shiraishi and Aizawa seem to have come to a decision regarding their parents.
But... Shiraishi-kun, it would still be better if you go to see your father... (tear)
