A/N: I don’t claim the story to be completely my own, I was inspired by a chapter of a manga I read and I just couldn’t resist working with it.

“Uh…It’s cold…”

Yamapi sighed, burying his face in the thick fur of his winter coat to keep his face a bit sheltered from the freezing wind that was blowing around his ears. He was on his way back home from the stop at the conbini around the corner of his apartment. Despite the short route it was still a very unpleasant journey due to the cold weather. Yamapi hated the cold and dark winter days, where the sun went down way to early and that annoying rain just turned the few light hours into more depressing ones.

“It would be better if it just turned into snow already…”

With a plastic bag full of his canned dinner and an umbrella in his hands he walked down the deserted road that lead to his apartment. It was raining heavily so there were almost no people on the streets.

“Eh? What’s …a Person?”

Just a few meters before his front door there was a small park where the neighbors’ children would play on sunny days. Right there at the corner of the park he noticed someone sitting in the rain without an umbrella or jacket.

“Isn’t that a person? Just sitting there, getting soaked? “

He slowly walked up to the guy sitting on a rock that surrounded a little area of grass.

“Hey you!?”

The cold rain was pouring down in his slim features, soaking his light blue pullover and washed out jeans. His hair light brown and slightly wavy at the tips, stuck up on one side with a few small hairclips. The boy kept on staring into the dark sky above him not noticing the other men walking up toward him.

Once Yamapi got closer he realized he had seen this person before, he actually knew this person who tried to kill himself out here at a time like this. When he was close enough, standing right in front of the boy he then looked straight at Yamapi with a dead stare.

“T-Tegoshi?”

The older man was freaked out at the look upon Tegoshi’s pale face, he looked so empty, so worn out and all the glitter that surrounded him, always, was gone. The boy looked like he lost all his sparkle and just stared at him with this sad and exhausted face.

“What...the heck are you doing Tegoshi? It’s freezing out here!”

The boy didn’t answer instead looked at his leader with big teary eyes. This freaked Yamapi out even more; he couldn’t believe what he was seeing. Tegoshi, like this? He never would have imagined the lively boy to ever be like that,… depressed? Was he? He sure looked like he just had the most horrible time of his pretty life. Of course Yamapi knew that even Tegoshi would be depressed at times, but it was as hard to believe as if someone had told him they were going to record a song with Mötley Crue next week.

“Are you trying to freeze yourself to death?”

Yamapi yelled at him, raising his voice more than he had indented to, shaking the boy slightly to get him out of his daze and say something. Tegoshi looked at the older man, wet strains of hair stuck to his forehead and his lips dry and quivering as he spoke in his most shallow voice “…no.”

“What’s that supposed to mean, no? Why the hell are you out here!?”

You could tell Yamapi was more than just a little freaked out by now, his voice was shaky and his breath uneven. He held his umbrella over the boy, who refused to stand up and instead kept sitting on the wet, cold stone. It was getting colder and Yamapi slowly lost his patience, he just wanted to grab the boy and bring him upstairs into his apartment, make him some tea and….

“Tonight… is the second full moon.”

The young boy looked up toward the sky where he had been looking at and Yamapi followed his gaze but saw..nothing.

“Moon?”

Everything was dark, pitch black to be precise and the rain made it even harder to see anything, if there were anything.

“There are two this month. Two nights when the moon is full.”

Yamapi didn’t get what he was talking about and wished he would make some sense soon or he would get really angry at him for keeping them both outside in the freezing cold and wet night. But the older man knew he could not get angry at him, not the way he would get angry at any other person who wasted his time or even dared to get him sick, he instead watched the other as he kept on talking, looking more sad and tired as ever before.

“Tonight is the second full moon. It’s called a blue moon.

They say that anyone who looks at it will find happiness. If possible I want to see it. But I can’t see much of the sky from my apartment so I came out here to wait for it. I wandered around town all night but I can’t see it from anywhere…“

Yamapi protested, “But you can’t just sit out here in the cold rain without an umbrella or anything!”  He reached out his hand, “Come on let’s go inside… My apartment is just a few steps from here.”

The drenched boy looked straight into Yamapi’s eyes, his doleful expression making his heart ache and his stomach twist in ways he didn’t know it could - hurting badly. Tegoshi took his hand but hesitated,

“…the..moon..” he breathed heavily and his eyes filled with tears again.

“If you are worried about being able to see the sky, you can see it from my place.”

“..but..”

“If you refuse I’ll just have to sling you over my shoulder and take you against your will.”

“Alright.”

Once inside his apartment Yamapi lost his coat, shoes and stripped himself off of his shirt and disappeared into the bedroom before returning with a stack of towels.

“Now get rid of your wet clothes, I’ll do your laundry later and you go have a hot bath!”

Tegoshi felt bad and embarrassed to be treated by his leader, he already did so much for him by just being there and he probably didn’t know it. The boy though wasn’t sure if he wanted the other to know it, know that he had feelings for him - always had.

Feelings that would not fade and only grow stronger with each passing moment.

“Here,.. drink that…”

Yamapi handed the boy a cup, whilst admiring the perfect vision in front of him. His brown-ish hair fell messily over his eyes, partly covering the deep brown orbs with slick wet strains stuck to his smooth skin. His cheeks were flushed a light pink tone, finally getting back some color onto that pretty face he thought.

“..it’s hot whiskey, it’ll warm you up!” Yamapi handed the other the cup before adjusting the towel that hung around his neck, covering not much of his bare chest.

The boy had gotten rid off his pullover and jeans as he was told to and now stood there only in his underwear and a fluffy towel swung around his neck. Yamapi felt himself blush lightly at the admirable sight of the boy’s lithe body, how his slightly wet chest glistened under the dim lights of his room, at the sight of his slim but perfect waist and oh .. yeah he had seen him in his underwear before, tons of times and even without them but somewhat it felt different tonight, more intimate just the two of them alone in his apartment.

“You’ve been awfully reckless Tegoshi, not knowing whether or not it would stop raining like that…”

Tegoshi took a sip of the hot beverage then lowered his face; he thought he could feel Yamapi’s eyes pierce through his skin, his flesh and his heart. He knew the other didn’t mean to harm him but it still was painful just to stand there in front of him.

“I...I broke up with someone recently… I thought if I could see the moon tonight...I might be alright without them…without anyone.”

The boy turned around, he couldn’t look into the older man’s face, he couldn’t even stand to look into his direction.

It hurt.

He took a few steps before plopping down onto the floor, sitting on a white fuzzy rug, sipping on his drink.

“But while I was waiting for the moon, I thought about why we broke up. About how much I hurt them by not being true to myself. I feel like I used them, I didn’t love them. Never have. I know that I don’t deserve happiness but I still want to be happy. And it’s not like I did it on purpose, I thought acceptance could turn into like and like into love but I guess it’s not possible to love someone when you only have one heart, and that one heart… I gave away already - a long time ago.”

A silent tear made its way down the boy’s heated face. He tried to muffle a deep sigh and control his emotions, he didn’t wanna go crying like a baby, not here not now, not in Yamapi’s living room. But the older man was kneeling next to him by now, gently taking hold of his shoulders he turned him around. They were face to face, Tegoshi bit his lip hard as another tear escaped and the taller man embraced him in a tight hug.

“Don’t say such things, don’t ever say those words again, you hear me?.” The older man pressed the trembling boy’s chest against his, their skin rubbing against each others. That was when Tegoshi let his tears fall freely, leaning his face against the other’s shoulder. Yamapi wanted to hold the boy closer and closer and never let go of him. “You know what? You deserve to be happy, more than anyone else! And I will do anything to make you happy; I want you to find true happiness.”

Tegoshi’s eyes sprung open, he was shocked at the words that came out of Yamapi’s mouth. He tried to push himself away from the other, pressed his hands against Yamapi’s firm chest but the older man brought one hand to the boy’s face, he cupped his burning cheek with his hand which brought all of Tegoshi’s actions to halt - he froze.

“I mean it, I really do.” The taller man whispered, straddling the boy’s legs so he fitted in between them, moving as close toward him again, as close as he could. Yamapi let his hand slowly glide along the boy’s cheek toward his ear, resting at the back of his neck. His other hand carefully touched Tegoshi’s shoulder, moving down his side and away from the boy’s trembling body, supporting his own weight against the floor as he leaned in to kiss the boy. He slowly pressed his mouth fully on the boy’s cold lips, savoring the exotic taste before Tegoshi kissed back eagerly. They kissed gently and soft, long, messily and all over the place, exploring each other's mouths hungrily.

Eventually they broke the kiss for dire need of air. Yamapi then looked into Tegoshi’s eyes and smiled.

The startled boy looked up to his leader with confused eyes that asked ‘why did you that for?’ but his lips remained silent as the other man took his hand into his own and gave it a gentle squeeze. His eyes held a soft gaze and his smile was just as gentle and warm as always, making the boy feel just as secure as when he held him tight.

Yamapi slowly got to his feet and pulled the boy up with him, “Now you better go have that warm bath I promised you,” Tegoshi followed his lead silently into the bathroom where Yamapi then drew him a hot bubble bath that smelled like heaven at a night full of roses and honey.

“Here are a bathrobe and a pair of PJ’s,” Yamapi said, putting down said clothing next to the pile of towels. Tegoshi nodded thankfully and got into the bathtub quietly.

In the meanwhile the older man slipped into a grey tracksuit and cooked pasta with tomato sauce for his unexpected guest. Despite the fact he knew that Tegoshi wasn’t picky about food and would most likely eat anything he would feed the boy, he still wanted to do his best and give him a tasty dinner tonight.

Yamapi settled down in front of the largest window in his apartment, he had been looking out waiting for the moon, or Tegoshi returning from the bath. After a while he heard footsteps near the door to the living room, he turned around and smiled at the boy wearing one of his light blue PJ’S, which were about a size or two too big but looked really cute on him.

“Look, Tegoshi! The moon!” Yamapi gestured for him to join him, “…the moon is coming out!”

The younger man walked up toward him and looked right out the window, spotting the big, round and bright moon in the distance.

“Wah, it’s really bright isn’t it? It’s shining right through the rain. But I think I might not even need it anymore.”

Yamapi looked at him in surprise. “…..”

“…it’s because you came to rescue me,” the younger man looked straight up at the other, and when he turned to face him too they locked gazes, “ I love you Yamashita-kun.”

“B-but…you said..your heart…” Yamapi wasn’t really sure whether he should have expected words like those from the boy or not. “..does that mean…?” He wasn’t sure what to think or do, he wasn’t sure what did he feel? But he knew that he wanted to protect the boy, be there for him and help him find happiness. But did this really mean…

“Yeah my heart, I gave it away. It’s been yours ever since I can remember..” The boy pulled at the rims of his oversized PJ top, “…and I’m not gonna take it back, ever.”

Yamapi took the other’s hand and gently pulled him closer, “If that’s how it is…tonight then can be my blue moon…” wrapping his arm around Tegoshi, holding him tight. “..the one that brought you here to me, Yuya.”

Tegoshi rested his head against his shoulder; the other man leaned into him as well, moving his arm to rest on it.

It was a perfect moment.

Neither of them couldn’t have wished for anything different.
