I need tablet! YARGH.
It's fucking hot. Hot and humid and the fan is doing nothing. Nate's bright idea is to use the 300 year old dehumidifier, but it throws off more heat than the oven does. :| It really doesn't do any fucking good if it just makes it more hot. I hate humid heat. Dry heat, I don't mind so much. I dealt with it from mid-march to late-november every year in California. I'm used to it, if not slightly annoyed by the fact that it still saps me of all energy.
I just moved the floor fan from the living room down here, it's helping a bit, and I'll have to tote it back upstairs once everyone starts waking up, but it's better than nothing.
I'm bored shitless. Nate's asleep and left this fucking 261 MB download for some gayfuck Civilization III mod going. I can't do shit, and certainly can't go on RO, while this piece of shit is going. I'm not really sure if Opera's download/transfer manager allows resume of transfers, so I won't touch anything.
Just means that, my only real chance to get online for more than a couple of minutes for myself today is being ruined by this download of something I won't even be using. He prolly won't either, he didn't last time. 600 something megs for a game he played all of four times. YEAH. THAT SHIT WAS WORTH IT. :|
Heat and humidy make Asia a snappy bitch. I can't sleep, it's too hot... and I woke up about two hours ago, maybe earlier. Blah. Besides, going to sleep means having to turn off the computer and lose the download, so we go through it all over again.
I don't leave my computer going when it's not being used. I don't believe in that. They have shut down options for more than just moving it around the house. I honestly don't see the big trouble in spending all of three minutes to fire the thing back up again. Oh well. Whatever strokes folks' cocks, that's not my problem.
Besides, with all this water in the air, it'd be dangerous to leave the thing running and hot all day, since any coolness in the box would of course cause condensation, WHICH KILLS ELECTRONICS.
I cannot afford another computer and mine is no longer under warranty. So, yeah. Extra careful.
Nate bitched at me all day yesterday to pay the phone bill, since his mother obviously wasn't going to... AGAIN. I told him, it's due the 14th. It's like a school assignment. It must be HANDED IN by the 14th... if it's processed a few days later, they won't penalize me. They didn't last month. But, at around... 11:30 last night, he wakes me up just so I could sit, tired as fuck and bitchier than fuck in front of the computer just to pay a 31 dollar phone bill. Wow. I could have waited until this morning and not have been pissed off about being woken up. Yay.
:| He worries waaaay too much. Blah.
Hurricane's a-comin'. I'm hoping everyone I know down Florida-way is alright, or atleast still alive. It's heading up here and is supposed to get to us by Sunday. Today's supposed to be a nice day, so I hope the forecasts are right, since Nate's supposed to be going driving with his father today. As to whether or not I will be going with him, I'm not sure yet. Depends on how miserable the weather/humidity is and how I feel. I probably should, since his car has air conditioning and we'll likely go out somewhere to eat, which is cool.
I just really hope we don't get any flooding down here. We got a tiny bit at the end of winter when the snow was melting, saturating the soil... and then we got torrential rains to boot. Water seeped in under one of the walls, but it was clean. Anyway, we had to use most of the towels in the house to keep it back... and got bitched at by Pat for it. Hurr. Don't use the towels to stop your room from flooding! Don't let it flood, but you can't use the towels! :|...
Anyhow. I just hope we don't have that or worse. Especially with all the electronics and furniture we have in here. My rug would be ruined, and I'd be pissed.
Haha. The radio just said the hurricane is gonna pretty much be a tropical storm for us. No big deal, we had that before.
I would want to go to the cape to escape the heat and humidity, but we'd walk right into the ass of the storm. :( Sucks.
