If one were to make a slightly complicated figure out of polymer clay, and then wanted to create a mold in order to make duplicates, I keep wondering how that would be done. How do you make a mold of something and get every little detail? Even spindly ones? blah.

I wouldn't know how to do it. The instructions don't really say how to deal with underparts like a stomach and legs.

Would you know how to create a mold of an entire figure? I just don't see how it's done. ._. Such as figured and statues you see in stores, they all look the same since they come from the same molds, right? I just don't understand how they get put together or how it might be done all at once.

The way I'd figure it, you dust your figure with baby powder, paint all the layers of the liquid latex onto it (like it should say on the container of it) and then cut the mold in half so you have two halves making up the whole of your figure and you'd have to make two halves of your figure and stick it together again. Or if you were using ceramic clay instead of polymer clay, stick the two halves together and make a pour-in hole at the top or bottom and fill them with clay. You could use rubber cement to stick them together and then just thin the rubber cement afterwards to separate your molds to get the figure out...
I'm positive that the figurines you see our and about are fixed up after they're molded... either added to or sculpted more.

I'm glad for the help, thanks so much. ^^ Do you know at all how making a master mold would work?
