Title: Unforgettable Love
Rating: PG
Pairing: Yamajima.
Prompt: 5 times Yuto missed Yamada, written to the best of my abilities. and lots of angst.
Notes: another Yamajima fic, unbetaed and written as soon I'd re-browsed the yamajima-thon list, and saw this prompt. LJcut is a translated lyric from Korean band TVXQ's Japanese track, "miss you". (they're pretty versatile like that. XD)
[one.]
It is a quiet walk, without Yamada's laughter and the sound of their feet, walking together in time. Yuto opens his mouth, and tries to initiate conversation with the trees, with the wind breezing through his hair-
it just isn't the same without Yama-chan.
[two.]
He walks home, and watches an episode of some drama-or-other. It isn't one that stars either of them, but Yuto finds the main character adorable and hilarious... like Ryosuke, a bit. In the smile.
Yuto pulls out his phone, and starts composing a text message-
wait.
After pressing the 'delete message' button, Yuto feels lonelier than ever.
[three.]
He's passing by studios on the way to their own, and Yuto hears faint strains of familiar music. The Juniors must be practicing, and Yuto vaguely recalls days when he and Yamada would practice for hours, the Kinki Kids and Tackey&Tsubasa. KAT-TUN, Arashi, Kanjani8.
Shuji to Akira.
Yuto stops, and he finds himself mouthing along, familar words to a tune he knows so well. He pauses- it's Yamada's turn to sing-
Suddenly, the silence overwhelms the thrill of remembering.
[four.]
The group becomes quiet, and Yuto knows that they're staring at him. He tugs at the hem of his shirt, and takes a seat. The meeting date's been known, but that Yuto would show up was a surprise in itself.
The Juniors are assembed, some of the upperclassmen, family, classmates (to an extent). Hikaru clears his throat, and takes charge of the situation.
"Today is special. We're here to talk, to dream, to think. To remember..."
[five.]
Yuto hasn't talked. Jabbered, chattered, grinned and gestured, flailed, and babbled in such a long, long time.
It's quiet, the night sky shining overhead. The roads are quiet, and his neighborhood is silent, tranquil.
He looks up at the stars, and wonders if Yamada can see him.
I miss you.
