It's just one thing after another...

I thought I had killed my computer yesterday. I don't know what I did, but when I rebooted, I kept getting an error in Explorer, and nothing on Windows would come up. I couldn't even access my Start button. I went through just about everything I could think of to fix it myself. When I finally called Tech Support they were like, your warrenty is gone, if you want us to help you, we will have to charge you 40 bucks for an "extra 7 days of warrenty"... sigh. I said no. They said, you can always go online and check out our tech support there. If looks could have been daggers... I then told them (AGAIN) that I couldn't even get Windows up and running, how in the heck was I supposed to get on the Internet. Here is what the prob was. Right after you boot up, when your background is there, but before all your icons pop onto the screen I would get this error message, "Explorer has caused an error in WDMNCO.DLL" and then nothing would come up... no start bar, no icons, and when I hit CTL-ALT-DEL it was empty.

After exhasting all my options, I found my "system recovery" disk and did a partial system recovery. I just restored all of the software, but left the hard drive unmolested. Low and behold! Yay! This worked, but now everything is all different. My screen feels so big now, and all the fonts on all the webpages seem so small, but too big and the same time. Also, I started to have a prob with the XColibur site layout for here too. The words were all over the screen. So I switched over to the old layout. Oh well, at least I got my puter up and running again. Still don't know what caused the error. Some of my programs don't quite work right anymore, but I guess that is the price I pay.
