О лояльности

В продолжение "The King of Israel".

Популярный в правых кругах Бен Шапиро запостил утром цепочку твитов о высказывании Трампа о нелояльности американских евреев. Процитирую часть об этом высказывании: In re: Trump's statements about Jews and Israel and "disloyalty":
1. When people reference Jews, they could be talking about ethnic Jews -- those born Jewish -- or religious Jews.

2. Those born Jewish don't have to have political "loyalties" in any direction. That's pure identity politics. Such a supposition is no different or better than Ayanna Pressley saying "we don't need any more brown faces that don't want to be a brown voice."

3. American Jews, whether ethnic or religious, are loyal to America, not Israel. Any dual loyalty supposition is anti-Semitism.

4. Jewish belief and practice SHOULD make it more difficult to vote for a party that celebrates and champions Jew-haters like Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar.

5. It's utterly unclear if Trump's "disloyalty" comments suggest (2) or (3), which would be anti-Semitic, or (4), which would be impolitic from a non-Jew, but true.
It was never utterly unclear really, но, к счастью, вскоре после того, как Шапиро опубликовал свои твиты, это стало utterly clear. Сам Трамп внес ясность.
I’d say it’s pretty clear now, Ben.

In my opinion, you vote for a Democrat, you’re being very disloyal to Jewish people and you’re being very disloyal to Israel, and only weak people would say anything other than that” https://t.co/ZY5WPJAu3f pic.twitter.com/H629fK2PGy

Интересно, будет ли теперь Шапиро клеймить Трампа за антисемитизм. Хотя это, конечно, ничего не меняет.

P.S. Несколько смешнее позиция The Republican Jewish Coalition. Цитирую отсюда: The Republican Jewish Coalition, meanwhile, rallied to defend Trump, arguing that the president was speaking about people being disloyal to themselves rather than to Israel.

“President Trump is right, it shows a great deal of disloyalty to oneself to defend a party that protects/emboldens people that hate you for your religion,” the group said in a tweet. “The @GOP, when rarely confronted w/anti-Semitism of elected members always acts swiftly and decisively to punish and remove.”
