What's up with the Midwest and the South? You would think that they'd be a little pissed off about the war in Iraq and how this administration made a fat blunder in military intelligence by stating that there the weapons of mass destruction (WMD) in Iraq were an imminent threat to the US, but then changing their stories to say that Iraq was an ally of Al Qaeda because no weapons were found.
Honestly, Al Qaeda has support from all over the middle east, not just in Iraq. The reason for our invasion of Iraq? Oil. Such a mistake... by invading Iraq and not finding any evidence of WMD and failing to secure multilateral support from world allies, we not only alienated ourselves from the world, but we also stirred up a terrorist hornet's nest. We will now be looking at terrorist attacks for an even longer period of time. Simply put, we weren't justified in invading Iraq and Bin Laden is probably prancing around out there laughing at us and utilizing our blunder to recruit more terrorists for his cause/jihad.
How close-minded can people be? The exit polls in Ohio show that morals were the most important issue to them, second came the war in Iraq, and third came terrorism. Morality? Is gay marriage and abortion that much more important than needlessly sending these 18 to 21 year-old troops to fight a war in which we shouldn't have been involved in? Our credibility in the world stage has been shattered and I was hoping that Kerry could restore some of the faith the world could have in this nation. We live in an interconnected world where our actions make a difference around the world... the world doesn't really care whether we allow for gay marriages or abortion. They do care that our country acted unilaterally against a country and ruler we don't like, they do care if our economy is going to shambles because of this war. The South and Midwest needs to wake up and smell the coffee because the United States does not have impermeable borders... the more enemies we create now, the more our children will have to suffer. We will not be attacked by terrorists simply because we believe in abortion or gay marriage.
Anyhow, the election really depressed me and made me wonder about the collective intelligence of this country. It's just funny how most of the major metropolitan and educational centers of this country went to Kerry while the Midwest and South went to Bush... go figure, huh?
I don't think that morality is unimportant, but do you really believe that legislating morality is the key to a better society? Besides, I don't think that Kerry supports a morally perverse agenda... after all, neither candidate supports gay marriage, but is stem cell research the real issue that people are worried about?
Well, I hope that everyone had a great Halloween weekend!
I went to a couple of parties this past weekend and had some friends in town that were staying at my place. Once girls stay at your place, you start finding long hairs everywhere and you never really get a chance to use the bathroom in the morning. Also, my back is all jacked up again since I let my two gal pals sleep on the bed. What did YOU guys dress up as on Halloween? I went for the gay sailor look since I already had the outfit. Why would I have such an outfit you may ask?
To be honest, I was in advanced choir in high school and that was one of our outfits... believe me, I wasn't particularly thrilled wearing the darn thing when performing in public, but it's not so bad when you have twenty other people in the same get-up and performing with you... ahhhh, the joys of being in a group and blending in with the rest of them. However, wear it while you're on your own and you're definitely going to get stared at.
Suffice it to say, I looked like the guy on the Cracker Jack box... with some really tight pants were skin tight. Those pants rode high on my waist and even had a corset type tie in the back. We went to eat Korean food after going to the Supper Club on Saturday night and the hook/button for my pants popped off.
Yes, I'm a fatty. Latez!
