Leavin' Las Vegas... for now...

AAAAAAAACK! I'm soooooo darn tired right now. Why, you may ask? But lookin' at the subject line... I'm sure you realize that a visit was paid to the City of Sin, Las Vegas. I guess 15 hours of sleep since Thursday kinda wears a person out. (Note: I wish I didn't need sleep, but I'm just barely functioning right now... only IM keeps me mildly amused enough to keep me awake at my internship.) Vegas is a city unlike any other and I'm sure other cities such as Atlantic City pale in comparison to the lights and sounds of Vegas.

After finishing two beers, I saw the vast darkness below give way to the orange-yellow glow of the city of Las Vegas. I didn't realize just how much the surrounding area around the Strip has developed, but Vegas looks like its blossoming. (For those of you who have not been to Vegas, "the Strip" refers to the Las Vegas Boulevard. Las Vegas Boulevard is lined with all the big-name hotels you see and hear about on TV, Travel Channel & Discovery Channel specials, etc.) My buddy and I arrived in Vegas airport in the 100+ degree heat of the Las Vegas night... thank goodness it's dry heat! For the most part, the weekend went according to plan... dinner at Nobu (swanky Japanese restaurant) on Friday night and dinner at Smith & Wollensky's (nice steakhouse) on Saturday night. All in all, I spent way way too much money for a guy that doesn't get paid at his judicial internship. Freak! Including gambling losses and the expensive dinners/drinks/gentlemen's club (Oxymoron, ain't it? :P) fees/club fees/massage at the spa, I spent in the range of $1G. Ack! I'm sure the groom had a good time though... but all of us signed a non-disclosure agreement before the festivities began so details won't be given at this point in time.

However, I would recommend checking out an after hours club called Drai's located in the Bourbon Street Hotel and staying at the Hard Rock Hotel for a weekend. The pool there is pretty nice and it's where a lot of the attractive singles go to hang out, gamble, drink, and party. If that's not your scene, you should definitely check out the tropically themed Mandalay Bay hotel and its awesome pool... they have a wave pool there and small beach. Time to get off of work soon and take a looooong nap.

Oh yeah, I wanted to say thanks to Aranya (
azntropicalgrl) for introducing my infant journal page to people. You're da best!
