Usually, I'm not a big fan of mergers because they do squash competition and allow the remaining companies to do anything they want to the consumer (o hai thar AT&T), but I'm glad to see that
SIRIUS and XM are approved to merge.
On one hand, nothing would thrill me more than to see their combined strength nail terrestrial radio's coffin shut for good. On the other, more hopeful hand, maybe terrestrial radio will actually start addressing its major problems and make itself a genuine alternative to the satellite radio that one has to pay for.
