DONE

I'm done with Yahoo and MSN as IM clients. I haven't seen anyone on either service in ages. I changed the MSN contact info (made another passport/live ID/whatever the shit MS calls it today) and will just drop the Yahoo one on the floor.

The only persons I've ever known to use MSN are the Windows Engineering team at my office (hardly a compelling argument for the client) and Yahoo had... two people I never speak to anymore. I like ICQ but the UID thing and how they work in general is anachronistic, which makes me nuts anytime I try to look somebody up or deal with their shittastic website. AIM is decent with good "people saturation" and I have found GoogleTalk to be rather elegant in its simplicity (and best of all, it is encrypted).

I got rid of ICQ so long ago I forgot it was treated as a separate service. "Shittastic" is the kind way to describe it.

Half the time, I don't even have a client (not even gaim or iChat) open anymore. It's partially because I'm going through one of my reclusive periods again (weird work hours tend to do that to you), and partially because everyone I talk to on a regular basis is on IRC anyway (though I certainly wish some of them would show up more).
