I'm getting terribly excited for the cleveland kendo tournament next weekend, this might be the first time I've gone and not tested for the next rank. It will be nice not having one more thing to worry about, I just sit back, relax, and enjoy the festivities for a change. Speaking of festivities, plans for this weekend may have been canceled but we'll reschedule. Instead I got to go mountain biking for the first time! Tj and I went out and rode some trails, it was a lot of fun (especially on his bike, which is super pro). I've missed hanging out with him, and now that I've accepted I won't have my thesis done by the May deadline, I have a little more time to hang out and go adventuring. I need to get a bike tho, not only for more mountain biking but also perhaps for a triathalon. I'm still running, tho I've been taking it easy with the tournament coming up, and my dental hygenist (a long distance runner) said she'd tried a triathalon and liked it - her description of the experience made it sound like something I'd really enjoy. Things are back on track, or should I say, a different track. I've got my work ethic back, I'm reconnecting with lots of people I've been out of touch with, mostly thanks to my sweet new phone! btw sorry if I haven't gotten back to you yet - I'm still rebuilding my contact list and haven't transferred everyone's phone numbers yet. Thanks for all the birthday wishes!

I'm also trying a lot of new things, like the mountain biking and also a vegan diet 5 of the 7 days of the week. It wasn't that big of a switch, and actually I'm not really missing any of the dairy or meat I used to eat. It's nice if I have it on Friday or Saturday, but I don't crave that sort of food like I thought I would. I got a sweet single-serving blender for breakfast smoothies, lots of fresh veggies, and some pretty nifty tortillas to make wraps - amongst other things. Diet is such an easy thing to change to be more healthy and keep yourself in good shape, if you are relaxed enough to accept change and perhaps give up some things that you've enjoyed or have gotten used to. Things are going well, and the warmer weather is only adding to my personal pot of happiness. Things are coming back into balance, I still need to work on my study habits (I'm seriously burnt out, I cannot wait to graduate -_-) and misc other things, but starting is the hardest part and I'm finally past contemplation, moving into action.

awesome people, adventure, health, friends
