I'm studying for my make-up physics exam...it's not going well.
In taking a break I decided to fill out my physics course evaluation...and the more I thought about how unfair the class is being run, the more things I thought I might say in the comment section on the bottom. Now I wish more classes had their evaluations available electronically...but I think I get quite verbose when I don't have to write out my comments by hand...
Here's what I told the school about how I felt about my physics class
"Physics courses should be taught by physics professors, not engineering professors. I would rather the university not schedule a class unless it is taught by someone who has experience in the specific field, not just someone who understands the subject matter. I also think that a professor who is running two other classes as well as assisting graduate students should not be asked to run another class when he has so little time to devote to it. Lastly, I think that it is preposterous to be expected to attended class, lab, office hours, multiple recitations, and devote at minimum 6 hours of study time per week to get an A in a class that is not a requirement for a major. Subject material should be taught proficiently IN CLASS and if that is not enough then a TA should be assigned for a recitation. Office hours should not be mandatory to have the material covered in depth enough to get a good grade. It should also not be assumed that students attend reviews before exams for fun or because they have great reverence for the subject matter...but rather take into account that perhaps if so many people must attend multiple review session then perhaps they don't feel prepared and there may be issues with the amount of material they are understanding during class. I think this instructor is brilliant and enthusiastic but should not have been asked to teach this class due to lack of time available and lack of experience teaching this course."
I really hope that twat reads those evaluations.....
stupid people,
