Cutting Edge

Thanks, Collin, for bringing this to my attention, I've always thought this would be a good idea, I'm so happy to hear someone's almost got a copy of it available.  DICE will be releasing, this year, a game called Mirror's Edge.  It's not on their website yet, but - it looks AMAZING.

Nice article. Thanks! But here are my thoughts:

- That still shots look pre-rendered, not in-game screenshot. I might be wrong--no, I'd be happy to be proven wrong, but I'm positive about this. Also, stills always look better than actual gameplay, where as not-so-good-looking-stills turns out to be terrific gameplays.

- I've always wondered when and whom will bring such realistic inertia and movement of character into 1st person view, and here we are! I hope they're using all those as a means to something, not as an end in itself. I wanna be told a good story/message through all that, then having to hop around without purpose!

- You, non-gamer, are well on a path of becoming a hardcore gamer! lol Well, maybe just a gamer. Still, welcome? LOL.

oh, shit. never mind. I looked up the hi-res versions of the screenshot and it's real screenshot. Although they still could have applied some post-efffects to make it more attractive (like Sony's Killzone 2 screens... bastards)

very interesting!

well in the interview they even say that the screen shots they have were taken before effects like motion blur and other effects have been added. wheeee. so game play will look exactly like that, pretty cool, huh? It's gonna be great, all I need now is a nice big HD screen and it'll be so realistic I'll puke while I'm playing. muh hahahah. I can't wait.
