Fan belts...

Had a fairly quite weekend. Probably a good thing after that last few weekends excesses!
First week in ages that ive not lost any weight. Too many curries, biscuits and too much alcohol I guess.
Not happy about that.
Did spur me on to get more running done. Did over 25k last week. 8k on Wednesday at the track in 39:30 which is the first time ive been under 40 mins for 8k in errr way way too long. Was well pleased with that :)

I was giving people from work a lift over to a web site usability testing being done over in Leeds today. Now after Id given people from work a lift to a funeral a few months ago, when the rad burst on the way there, they had a few renovations about the Trooper. But it had been fine when Id been down and back to Brum the weekend before and to work and back, so I thought no problem...
I actually got to use the 3rd row of seating the car today for the first... and probably last ever time. Though Steph was not very happy at being put into the kiddie seats right at the back! lol
Got over to Leeds no problems even with the usual car park of the M62 at that time.
Got the usability testing done which was good and then headed off at about 5 back for Huddersfield. I was just pulling on to the M621 and noticed that I had a load of warning lights on the dash! Mmmmm It was still going fine so I thought I carry on for a bit and see if I could work out what was wrong. After a bit of thinking I realised that I was probably lacking a fan belt!
Not wanting to alarm my passengers I just carried on as I saw little point in stopping unless the Trooper wanted to. I seem to have been right in thinking the water pump does not run off that belt as temps were fine as long as we were moving... getting into the M62 car park didnt help but didnt over heat.
The one thing that did come as a surprise was the servo for the brakes also runs from the belt to the first time I stood on the brakes it felt like standing on a brick and not a lot happened!
The rest of the way back to Huddersfield I kept a good distance from the cars in front. 1) so I didnt have to stop and loose cooling and 2) with no servo I couldn't stop 2.5 tonnes in a hurry! :E
Made it back to Huddersfield before I confessed my to passengers about the slight transport issues there may be but it made it there and dropped every one off.
Took a risk at going to Halford as I didnt know if it would restart. It did start with no probs but Halford were as useless as usual. Popped round the corner to a proper motor factors and got one off the self for £4.50 :)
Shall be fitting that in the morning... hope fully.
