I don't understand. SAT scores came back, 720 in Math, 700 in Critical Reading, 700 in Writing. My freakin' parents say that it isn't good enough and want me to do even more rigorous SAT prep for the SATs THE NEXT TIME AROUND. There's going to be a next time... With the equivalent of a score more than a 1400 on the old SATs, I'm going to have to ( Read more... )

okay. so you getting an equivilant of a 1400 is so terrific it's crazy. however, definitely take the test a second time. your scores will only go up, and you'll do even more terrific. iknow it sounds pointless right now. but i said the same thing, and when it came time to apply to schools, i'm sure many schools (well two that cared about academics) turned me down because of my scores. because even though i was applying for a dance major, i was still up against those geniuses that get 1600s.

if i had taken the sats a third time, my scores would have gone up again, but i settled for my measley score because i was like, "i'm not taking it again!" but after i couldn't take it again, i was really bummed. yeah, my score was okay, but it wasn't good enough for myself, and you can always improve.

so, do the painful thing and do it just one more time, it will be worth it i promise. if not for yourself, do it for me and don't settle!

ALSO: IF YOU ARE TAKING AN SAT II SUBJECT TEST LIKE US HISTORY AND MATH, DO IT IN JUNE! DO NOT WAIT FOR SEPTEMBER TO ROLE AROUND AND THINK YOU'LL REMEMBER STUFF AND THAT YOU WILL HAVE TIME TO STUDY. COME SEPTEMBER, YOU DN'T REMEMBER SQUAT AND THERE IS DEF. NO TIME TO STUDY KOZOL NOTES. SO DO IT IN JUNE.
