I have descended into a total state of fan frenzy, in which pretty anything I do that is not "talking about Star Trek" seems like an absurd distraction. Obviously, this is an inversion of reality, but recognizing this changes nothing.
So if you are in similar straits, it is good to talk in comments.
The perceptive lynnmonster pointed this out first: There's either one Pike scene too many or one Pike scene too few in the film. We get Nero using the Centauri worm on him, and this is obviously going to have dire effects -- but the thing never gets mentioned again. They don't find it in Sickbay, don't mention it as the cause of his paralysis (though that would be a reasonable inference), nothing. IMHO, they should have either followed up on that part or ditched it.

I had a ridiculously good weekend. My planets are well-aligned right now. I am at the point of being terrified that things are going SO well, I am probably going to be crushed by a falling piano or something. You know, "just when everything was looking up." Or maybe I should learn to relax and enjoy the nice parts.
