Trying to write lyrics for a song, this is a severe work in progress, needs rearranging. It's also the first thing I've written in a while, so it's crap
-------------------------------------------------------------
Casinos across one river
Strip clubs across the other
Your choice of any vice
If I had some money, it’d be nice
But I can’t seem to find
It okay to pay a woman for her time
To pretend that she likes me
Or gamble away my money
A night spent on a video game
The next night, exactly the same
Slowly losing the intellect
And culture I’d grown to collect
And then there’s that one more beer
Supposed to make everything clear
Instead driving into a drunken rage
Or a lonely cry over little wage
So humid, can’t help but sweat
Dry one moment, the next wet
Boats and bars, nothing in between
Except a desire to die clean
Stuck in place that makes no sense
Trying to relax, just getting more tense
If I could sleep less, maybe I could dream
And things wouldn’t be as bad as they seem
Casinos and rivers
Another beer after a shot
Card games and false dreams
In the end, what’ve I got
Too much work, but not enough
Far too many cigarettes to smoke
If you saw me laughing
Is it because of a joke
