Oh my, so much to say.
Honduras was amazing, we built latrines, but we accomplished so much more than just that. We worked with the villagers, we played with the kids, we prayed together, we sang songs to each other, we demonstrated community, and most of all we loved each other. Not everything was perfect, but we were flexible, and we followed the calling of God when unexpected things happened. We felt him working in our group when we decided to spend our tourism money on a sick girl, and our vacation time on helping a widow, and in doing so, we moved boulders in the village and in our hearts. *James 1:27*
This summer is filled with adventure, just the way I like it. Tubing in the sun, bonfires with new friends, midnight swims in Lake Michigan, naps in the hammock, and living in my own private paradise. Awesome things are happening this summer, and I couldn’t be happier.
Cincinnati was exhausting but rejuvenating at the same time. It made me excited about my faith again, which is exactly what I needed. I want to continue to grow closer to God and I cannot wait to see how He shapes my life. The night I got back, I went swimming in Lake Michigan, and I felt so close to God, the moon was shining on the cool black water, the stars were stunning, Jupiter was visible, and the water felt so good. What a beautiful world He has created.
Blessed be your name
When the sun's shining down on me
When the world's all as it should be
Blessed be your name
Blessed be your name
On the road marked with suffering
Though there's pain in the offering
Blessed be your name
Every blessing you pour out,
I turn back to praise
When the darkness closes in, Lord
Still I will say...
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be your glorious name
