Trips and Christmas

It's interesting to me how memories have a way of sneeking up on you and then taking over... as one leads to another. Sometimes it's the scent of something or the feel of something. Other times it's the look of something. Sometimes it's simply the missing of something. Sometimes, perhaps, it's the replacement with something else.

Christmas is here and I always love the way all the decorations look and things. I really wish that I could get someone else to slow down and take notice. They need to take notice. But, for some reason, Christmas this year just doesn't feel like Christmas. Perhaps it's having to listen to the same hour in a half worth of music at work (seriously, the selection there is very slim) or maybe it's just not in my heart this year like it's been in the past (which makes me really sad if that's the case). I don't know though, sometimes Christmas just doesn't feel the same. It's weird, but it's always been magical to me and I know that this year will be the same. I think it's just a lot of things overall.

So, I don't think Marcus and I are going to have enough money to go to Colorado for Spring Break (sorry Katie!) but hopefully he will actually get some time off... speaking of which, he's been there over a year now and should be able to actually get a week's worth of paid vacation... which, also means that I might be able to get some as well (perhaps I should look into that!). That just dawned on me. Things after the New Year are going to change a lot and I know that. I don't know how as I can't know the details, but I know that they are going to. So... going back to how this one started, no trip to Colorado, but hopefully we will still get to go somewhere. I was thinking either Charleston or Savannah (I'm leaning more towards Charleston) or back to Pennsylvania and maybe a longer trip to DC. *shrugs* It all costs money which is a little hard to come by at the moment but I am doing better about all that. Also his 30th is coming up in January and I'd like to throw him some kind of party, but I don't know if I would be up for all that mainly since I'm kind of bothered by some of the people at work and most of them can't seem to party like adults.

So I really don't have that much money for Christmas gifts this year but there are some people I'd like to get something for but it's gonna be kind of small. I think for my sister this year I'm gonna make some dry embossed notecards and for my parents... well they want letters for Christmas and I'm still trying to decide if that's what I'm gonna do or not but if not I know I want to do a cross stitch fingertip towel for my mom and then maybe something Harley for my dad. Not sure yet. I have TONS of ideas for Marcus but am not sure what to get. Funny thing is that he's been so busy recently that all I want for Christmas is a date with him but I don't know how to tell him that without upsetting him. We haven't really talked about Christmas much and when we're going to celebrate it and things. Not sure when he's getting Samantha either. I don't know what to get you thought Jess....?

My mom and sister were going to decorate my mom's house today for Christmas and I'm a little sad I'm not there (I really need to get into the Christmas spirit) but might go by after work tomorrow AM.

*sigh* I have to cut this short and get ready for work. Hope everyone has a great night!

Oh yeah, and my Finance professor told me I could have come by his office yesterday but I had to work at the time he told me, so I guess I'll have to retake that class. Those are the consequences of my actions all semester and then Thursday morning, so I can't really say/complain much.
