Still no dsl. Verizon has an invalid circuit error so they stopped doing anything. Might be something to do with dry loop dsl, which no one can explain clearly how it works. They might be installing another physical line. They 'can't' change the order to regular dsl... Only cancel and place a new order with another two week wait for install date! 'can't' of course is a pure bureaucratic nonsense barrier. Someone apparently noticed 48 hrs after my install date was missed, so an email has been sent from one part of verizon to another part, but not answered. If they didn't own the phone lines, would cancel order and go somewhere else, but anyone else is just middleman between me and verizon monopoly.
Would like alternatives. If I give up static ip service could go cable but then would need to buy hosting for domain names.
Not sure what other options exist, but suspect line install charges involved. May have line install charge anyway depending on what verizon is actually selling me.
