If you read this, if your eyes are passing over this right now, (even if
we don't speak often or ever) please post a comment with a COMPLETELY
MADE UP AND FICTIONAL memory of you and me. It can be anything you want
- good or bad - BUT IT HAS TO BE FAKE. When you're finished, post this
little paragraph in your LJ and see what your friends come up with.

Not a paragraph. You could say I got a little carried away. demonalove August 5 2009, 21:27:25 UTC
How about that one time I invited you to spend the day with me in Corpus Christi, Texas. We went to the beach. It was so beautiful that day. Just the perfect temperature for the beach. Almost too hot to be bearable. But, when a cool breeze washed up from the Gulf it made us feel almost human instead of beached ocean creatures rotting in the sun. We spent so much time on the beach because you didn't want to get into the water. Too many viewings of Spielberg's "Jaws" had taken it's toll. Lord, it was so hot. I hate being hot. I convinced you to take a walk down to the pier. I even talked you into going with me to the restricted area, where big white signs with red letters clearly warned us to; "KEEP OUT". I was a bad influence. I thought I had the best idea. Something even better than swimming. You remember, right ( ... )

There was no time to move, no time to get away. All we could do is take our chances and stay. We wrapped one arm around the other and with clawed desperate hands grabbed onto the rocks behind us. Squeezing my eyes shut because I didn't want to see, I screamed long and loud, your screams joined mine. Then are screams are drowned out, lost in the water. We were lifted, weightless. My fingers ached where they clung onto the rock behind as we were jerked back and forth, up and down, with the strength of the wave. It was endless. Then suddenly gone. You and I thumbed back onto our rock with bruising force, still screaming. Right beside you, on the rock, was a dead jellyfish. We assumed it was crushed with the force of the wave ( ... )

I have to confess and say the story isn't completely fictional. I did live in Corpus Christi, TX when I was 13. My best friend, at the time, and I really did do this. The beginning and part of the end is fiction and artistic embellishment. The core of the story is all true. After that day, my friend and I made it a tradition to sit on the rocks at the pier every time we went to the beach.

It's not so hard to remember it was only 11 years ago and it was very thrilling.
