a lukewarm attempt at a warm-up post on a raingry day

Feb 06, 2005 22:04

such a while since i've updated...

how interesting the see-saw of burgeoning love interests vs. writing in LJ interest is.
so i'm back, and the perceptive reader will understand what that means. and to actually attempt to convey any of the emotional layers behind this particular post will both reduce and cause remorse.

and there are so many social items and gender-memes and relation-thoughts that were themselves burgeoning even before abovementioned higher-order burgeoning (i'll stop using that word now, promise).
but they will have to wait for an even raingrier (rainy + grey) day.

instead, i will provide a tepid warm-up post.
On the personal side: I spent an incredibly raingy (rainy + grey, but not actually requiring stepping outside the house) weekend up in the mountainous Shiloh. It's been 3.5 months since I was last home.
I ate a *lot*. Girl-talked with mum and sis a *lot*. Slept a *lot*.
[yada.yada.yada] and I finished creating my sister's wedding invitations. Hand-done calligraphy. It's been a while since I've done that. And while requiring a *lot* of time and effort - very very satisfying with its pretty loops and lines (though not quite up to my personal standards. never is).

On the wider-cultural side, found this to be mighty interesting:

in short: spiritually oriented, culturally aware trans-modernist men are in fact in short supply (at least in the US, though I feel comfortable generally generalizing to our little petri-dish).
by sneaky induction, i can also slip in here my speculation that women - and particularly a certain form of feminine power of the wise and profound kind - are leading our burgeoning (oops) change of culture in all its forms and layers ( = evolution of consciousness?).

women, (and by this, i refer too to the little bit of woman in every man)
we have a *lot* of work to do.
