((OOC: This meeting/conversation/fight took place Wednesday afternoon around lunch time. ^^ No faces were harmed in the production of this RP.))
After splitting up from Takeru, Yamato and Gabumon walked down the street silently. His stomach tossed and turned and he was frowning. He looked forward to the fight... but this was the last time for weeks, wasn't it? How could he take a cheerful state of mind to that? Gabumon sighed at his side, rubbing his own eyes. "I hope we get to eat something nice after this!"
Taichi, already at their designated hangout, which he'd shown Sora the previous week before, was waiting with Agumon. The latter was eating a meal quite happily. The former, on the other hand, was brooding. He hadn't felt this bad since late '02, or during the time Sora had been captured in the Digital World. Then, as right now, he had absolutely no idea what to do.
Agumon chomped and chewed down each bite of food with very little satisfaction. Usually the Digimon would take great pleasure in savoring store bought food, but for some reason, he could not. His eyes kept darting back to Taichi with great concern. "Ne, Taichi... aren't you hungry? You haven't eaten all day." Agumon offered an unbitten piece wishing his partner would... say something to ease his worries.
It wasn't too much longer until Yamato and Gabumon showed up. Yamato raised an eyebrow at the two as he approached and lifted his hand in a wave. "Yagami."
Maybe if I don't eat for a week, I'll figure out how I let things explode into this black hole of emptiness. Taichi thought while noticing the uneaten piece of food Agumon was offering him. About to say that he could eat it, Taichi's attention was drawn toward the blonde guitarist who'd walked in and waved. He offered him a half-smile and a wave back. "Ishida."
Setting the food down, Agumon waved a claw to greet Yamato and Gabumon. For some reason, the air had changed. His worries were far from eased now.
Yamato raised an eyebrow. "You aren't excited. What's up?" Gabumon hurried to Agumon and squealed. "Agumon! HIII!"
Taichi raised an eyebrow in response. "I'll tell you when we're outside, and it doesn't have to do with the visit to Jou's hospital Monday. You should go visit him, btw-the females flock around him like crazy on that day."
Agumon glimpsed between Yamato and Taichi till his attention was caught by the other Digimon. "Gabumon!" Grinning, he hurried toward his friend as well and gave him a hug.
"Can't. I only have tomorrow and Friday. I was planning on Tuesday but things came up." Yamato shrugged. "You better tell me what's up though." Gabumon returned the hug with a giggle. "How have you been, Agumon? And Taichi?"
Getting to his feet, Taichi made his way past Yamato slowly; as he passed him by, he asked quietly, "Do you really want to start things while we're inside? 'Cause that's what'll happen if I tell you now." Eyeing Gabumon, Taichi offered him a faint smile before admitting, "I've had better days." That said, he headed outside and walked a few meters from their hangout before pacing himself.
"Good! I had lots of fun Monday with Jou and Rie and...!" Agumon's bright expression slowly dimmed as he glimpsed to Taichi from the corner of his eyes. His words hung in the air as the brunette replied rather off from his normal tone. Agumon's eyes followed Taichi. His body twitched, reacting to his partner's actions and hesitating to quickly follow.
Yamato followed behind Taichi with a frown. But curiosity was fighting to show... He'd remain patient until Taichi decided to talk, but it had better be soon. Gabumon tugged on Agumon gently to follow. "We have to keep an eye on them…"
Taichi knew Yamato was like a lit fuse these days-do one thing wrong and you would regret it. As he pulled his headband off and pocketed it, he knew hours ago that he unintentionally had the lighter already in his hand. Looking into the eyes of his best friend, Taichi took a breath before releasing it and then provided the short version of last night's incident. "...I screwed things up between Sora and me."
Looking to Gabumon, Agumon shook the hesitation away, nodded, and hurried after the two with the other Digimon.
"Wh-what?" Yamato seemed to nearly trip in pace, hurrying to move in front of Taichi. "What the hell do you mean?" Gabumon followed, leaning to whisper. "Maybe we should give them some space if it gets to be too much..."
Pointing to the one spot on his face that Yamato had hit five years prior in the Digital World, Taichi continued on. "I visited with Anna in the Digital World concerning...leader business; things almost went south but they didn't. As I was about to leave, she gave me a container that had food in it for Agumon. I didn't know how else to thank her at the time but with a kiss on the cheek. Sora...didn't take the news well last night when I picked her up."
"Uhn..." Agumon silently agreed, his attention now set on Taichi and Yamato. He hadn't heard any of what was being said before this from Taichi! Sure, he knew about the food which was delicious, but...nothing else.
"Well duh, idiot!" Yamato snapped. "You don't KISS ANOTHER girl when you're with someone!" He scowled. "I didn't leave Sora just so you can do this to her. You couldn't, honestly, think of a different way to thank her? Why the hell not!? A shake? A pat on the head? Just a simple 'thank you?' Taichi!"
"No...you left Sora because you decided to be friends, not to mention that she told me she likes you as a friend." Taichi retorted, feeling a frown appear on his face. "It dawned on me that I could've given her a hug instead but I don't always think like normal humans because I'm not one, and neither are you."
"That's the point. I'm her friend, and I didn't leave her for the sake of you two getting together just so you could mess up because of Anna." Yamato shook his head. "So how pissed is she?"
Sighing deeply, Taichi recalled Sora's words from last night before replying. "...She said that I need to think about how my actions will make other people feel. Later on, she said she has to think about what I told her."
Yamato frowned, rubbing his forehead. "Lately, I think you've been rubbing off on me. And it isn't right." He added with a glare.
Taichi scoffed while narrowing his eyes at the same time. "How have I rubbed off on you? I don't see you kicking a soccer ball toward a goalie."
"Not what I meant. I've been doing things without thinking lately and it's starting to cost me. Besides, I'd kill if anyone put a soccer ball on my head. Your evil hair can do that better." Yamato smirked.
"Ishida Yamato, admitting he's not perfect? That sounds as unbelievable as Sora telling me she was jealous last week." Taichi noted nonchalantly. "The numbers don't add up."
Yamato scowled, glaring at Taichi. "Yagami, when have I admitted I was perfect? And Sora jealous? That I wasn't expecting. But Taichi..." He inhaled. "Do you love Sora?"
Taichi's frown deepened while glaring back at Yamato. "You're dating a reporter Ishida, who dishes out information about specific rock stars." Closing his eyes, Taichi focused for a second on one face before answering his question.
"...Yes."
"And asks personal questions on a live broadcast..." 'Boxers or briefs?' he heard her voice echoing before he shook his head to get it out. "Then do you want to ruin it with her just because of some cute Russian girl?!"
Taichi allowed a faint smirk to be seen while responding. "She pulls off the goggles look well, but...I don't want what Sora and I have to be ruined because of a friend."
Yamato folded his arms. "Then tell Sora this after she's calmed down. There. Feel better yet?"
Taichi's smirk turned into a genuine smile while he placed a hand behind his head. "I'll do that, but I should clear things up with Anna first; I'll take Agumon with me so he can verify it. Yeah-I do feel better, actually."
Yamato sighed. "Make things up with Anna first? Anna isn't your girlfriend, Taichi. You need to clear things up with Sora before you run at another girl. Why the hell am I giving you relationship advice? I suck at it."
Taichi blinked a few times as he felt a sweatdrop appear on the side of his head. "I know that, but it could take her a while to calm down. As for you giving out relationship advice-try wearing a suit and shades the next time!"
Yamato brought up his index finger to point at Taichi with the thumb up as if he had a gun. "Bang." He said simply with a smirk. "I look good no matter what."
Taichi smirked back while flashing Yamato the V symbol. "It's phrases like that which make me wonder why you don't play the harmonica for us that much as you do the guitar."
"No one asks me to." Yamato replied. "If I'm asked more I'd bring my harmonica more. But in my band I don't use it."
Taichi had to admit-Yamato had a point when it came to his harmonica. "Then when you come back, bring it and play something melodic; not the way you used to in the Digital World. Those days, I felt like crying."
Sticking his hand into the oversized jacket, Yamato pulled out the slick silver harmonica and grinned. "Might as well make you cry then!"
Taichi's eyes widened in disbelief; he should've realized his friend would have it on him for situations like this! "You wouldn't...!"
"I played it while walking here and I figured I'd test my busted lips and fingers on it afterward." Yamato replied, bringing the instrument to his lips. "Or maybe it might be too evil..."
"Of course it'd be too evil!" Taichi protested, a sheepish smile on his face. "It'd be just as evil if I didn't listen to Mimi and aimed for your face like you said!"
"Bah, you aren't going to hit my face?" Yamato asked, disappointed. "I was hoping to look disfigured so I didn't have to go."
"Do you want me to hit your face?" Taichi retorted. "I'm already in hot water with Sora; the last thing I need is to hear about it from Mimi."
"I guess you're in bad enough shape as is. Maybe I might win this time." Yamato looked thoughtful. "Instead of all the draws we get."
"I may not be able to hit your face, but I'm not about to let you win because of a technicality." Taichi smirked confidently. "Have we hit our thousandth draw?"
"Maybe ten thousandth, but we'll just add this one to it!" Yamato chuckled and slid the harmonica back to the protective pocket.
Taichi chuckled as well while getting into position. "How about after this, we treat our Digimon to an all-you-can-eat buffet? I'm sure it would distract them from any you-know-what talk."
Yamato nodded. "That sounds great. Now, should we finally get started?"
Taichi nodded back. "Ready when you are. I get first punch, though."
"We'll see who’s faster, Yagami." Yamato laughed, setting the coat aside so his harmonica wasn't hurt in the fight.
Taichi laughed back while taking his coat off as well. "Soccer players are always faster than rock stars. Remember that, Ishida."
