RP: Leaders and Digimon partners Collide...!

Mar 31, 2007 22:13

It was late, too late to be wandering around the Digital World. The clocks in Russia read eleven o’clock, or would have had Anna been looking at a clock in Russia. Instead, she was walking along the edge of a forest with a couple of baby level Digimon who were passing a soccer ball between themselves whilst talking with the Russian Chosen and her partner, Unimon. The search for Catherine’s Floramon hadn’t turned up completely empty handed; the two had managed to make a few new friends along the way.

“That’s it. Keep it going…you’re doing great, Botamon!” Anna said, clapping her hands as continued to step backwards from in front of the small Digimon. The area had been mostly even up until that point, so falling was one of her least concerns.

“Pass it to me!”
“No, me!”
“I want a turn!” Another of the Botamon called out, hopping forward to give the soccer ball a powerful blow that sent it ahead of everyone else, including Anna.
The Botamon came to a halt, the majority of the group surrounding the poor Botamon responsible for the highly accelerated runaway ball. The majority cries of “Now look what you’ve done!” were drowned by a fairly uniform “Aww!”

“I’ll get it. You guys stay here!” Anna said, turning to chase after the runaway soccer ball…which was going to require a full speed charge to catch. “Hey, you! Come back here!” Unimon stifled a laugh, watching his Chosen barreling after the soccer ball…not to mention talking to it. It was an inanimate object, after all.

“Unimon?” The Botamon hopped about the tall, horse-like Digimon. “Are you sure it’s okay to kick other Digimon like that…?”

Taichi sighed under his breath as he logged onto the Yagami's computer; he should've remembered that laptops needed to be constantly recharged every few hours. He'd seen Koushirou do this more than once back in the old days and even after that!

"I still need to get in touch with Koushirou-or maybe Miyako-and see if they could install a Digiport into my laptop." Taichi thought while looking over his friends' posts via LJ. "Maybe after Hanami's over, or is it Hanabi...?"

“Anna, be careful!” Unimon called after her, leading the group of Botamon after the headstrong teenager with something of a neighing laugh.

Chasing after overly accelerated soccer balls was not very high up on Anna’s list of favorite things to do, but she was determined to show that group of Botamon a good time. After all their help in the search for Floramon, the little guys deserved it! It was that particular train of thought that allowed the Russian to gain upon the ball enough to jump forward in an attempt to capture it, one that was successful!

Only…she didn’t meet the ground.

As Taichi was close to finishing the posts-and not at all pleased with someone's post regarding the Chosen, a bright light suddenly flashed straight into his eyes! Shielding himself as best he could, Taichi squinted in an attempt to see what was going on.

"Is someone trying to come here from the Digital World...? But, out of all of us, who actually went there? Wait; it can't be!"

Taichi never got to finish his thought but did scream in surprise as he found himself facing a head-on collision with a Russian Chosen!

Anna, unfortunately, didn’t even have so much as a warning. One minute she was looking at the back of her eyelids; the next, she was screaming at an almost blinding light; and then…well, whoever had invented the saying “two heads are better than one” obviously had never had a head-on collision of any kind.

“KYAA-oof!!”

It was hard and fast, resulting in the loss of the soccer ball and a good deal of confusion. Whatever she had landed, it was soft, pretty warm, and was complicated enough in body structure to ensure tangling of limbs. Anna wasn’t very sure where her arms and legs were in the mix at all, only that a lot of things hurt that she hadn’t been aware she’d had before.

“Anna?” Unimon found himself staring at what had to be a Digital port…with a bunch of very confused Botamon behind him. “Oh boy…”

Taichi wasn't entirely sure what had happened, but before he knew it, his arms and legs were tangled up with someone he'd only talked to online this past week alone! It hadn't taken him as long as it normally would to put two and two together.

"Anna...?"

“Yes?”

The word came before much consideration of the matter. The voice wasn’t one she knew, but then again, all she knew was that the soccer ball was missing and she was very much tangled atop somebody she didn’t know. ‘Hey, that’s my-! Wait a minute…’

“T-Taichi!?” Anna blurted, eyes as wide as saucers.

All attempts to break free halted momentarily, then started with a passion in conjunction with a wide variety of “gomen nasai!” and a light tint of red upon the cheeks. ‘Two plus two equals…’

**********************

Meanwhile, Unimon was pawing the ground before the Digital portal, unconsciously explaining to the Botamon that Anna hadn’t been abducted by virus-type Digimon and that, despite popular belief, not all virus-type Digimon were evil.

‘To go or not to go?’ That was the question…if Anna hadn’t cleared the floor, it could be a little more than dangerous to go through. Then again…

Taichi suddenly realized that his hand was unconsciously touching somewhere it shouldn't be touching; a red tint appearing across his cheeks, he gulped lightly then upon hearing Anna's repeated 'gomen nasais' he managed to whisper back a reply. "Daijoubu...any chance you won't hit me if I let you up? Total accident on my part, even if I didn't expect you to come flying through my parents' computer."

"I'm just glad this wasn't the laptop she flew through!" Taichi thought to himself.

The tint became a shade; though, Anna wasn’t exactly focused upon hiding it at that moment in time. She was more focused upon remaining completely still in order to avoid making matters any worse. While finding her hands might’ve been nice and getting to her feet was definitely a priority…as well as remembering that it wasn’t Taichi’s fault. After all, Russian girls didn’t come flying through computers every day…right?

“Er…it’s okay. Not your fault, right?” She said, managing something of a smile, albeit a slightly nervous-or was it embarrassed-one.

“…I wonder how long this thing is going to stay open. She should’ve cleared it by now.” Unimon said aloud.

“You’re going, too?” The Botamon wailed.

“We’ll be back soon. Promise.” Unimon began the task of calming the disheartened Botamon

"Exactly...not my fault. I was hoping cooler-if not embarrassed-heads would prevail." Taichi noted quietly, recalling only one Russian word that Sora had ever taught him at that moment. A relaxed grin appeared across his face while staring up into Anna's seconds later.

"So...had any good borscht lately?"

“As a matter of fact, yes!” Anna beamed, a small bead of sweat managing to run down the left side of her head from the earlier mention of prevailing heads. Some things naturally knew no bounds, even cultural ones…or perhaps the Russian Chosen’s study had been a little more in depth than it should have been concerning Japanese. Well, at least one of them was at ease. The Russian girl carefully pushed herself up, watching where she put what as she did. She paused, extending a hand to Taichi rather than sending it flying at him as would have been done in any other case.

“Are…you okay, Taichi?” She asked, her smile remaining despite her concern and…embarrassment. ‘Way to go, Anna! Tackling boys and winding up in inappropriate positions is a definite way to ensure long lasting friendships…yeah. Not.’

Taichi laughed lightly while extending his own hand and accepting Anna's, pulling himself back onto his feet and steadying himself. The last thing he needed was to fall against her for a second time, lest they end up in another embarrassing position.

"Yeah, Anna; I'm okay. I just didn't expect to meet you in that manner. I figured I'd be meeting you at the airport with a sign that said 'Sokolova' on it." Taichi's face had a joking tone on it, even if he'd been partially serious at the same time.

In another room, a small dinosaur sat working contently away on what seemed to look like a pile of bent springs and tiny machinery. His large claws made it slightly difficult to piece broken parts of yet another shattered alarm clock. Agumon gritted his teeth, refusing to give up. He'd done enough damage to Taichi's alarm clocks. The least he could do was salvage this one. "Uwaah..."

Just as he was about to toss the poor clock and gnaw on another spring in frustration, he heard a loud crash coming from the outside. "Eh? Taichi?" This was probably the perfect time to take a break. Pushing up to his feet, he rushed over to where he heard the commotion. "Taichi? You ok? I just heard a--"

Agumon stopped when he saw an unfamiliar person standing in their room. The expression on his face was... confused to say the least.

Taichi's head swiveled in surprise at hearing Agumon's question and gulped again, scratching the back of his head repeatedly. "Agumon! This is...Anna. She's a Chosen from Russia. That's Agumon, my partner." Taichi continued to scratch his head while silently thinking, "There's no way that I'm telling Sora about this...!"

A chosen child from... Russia? This was certainly a pleasant surprise! The confusion lifted away from Agumon's face as he gave a toothy grin and lifted his claw up as a greeting. "Hello Anna! Nice to meet you!" Agumon walked forward to stand next to Taichi and extend his hand to Anna.

“Hello, Agumon!” Anna beamed at the small dinosaur Digimon and took his claw, shaking it gently with her hand. “It’s nice to meet you, too!” She paused, tapping her cheek thoughtfully. “You know, if we keep running into all these handsome Digimon, I don’t know what Unimon’s going t-oh! Everybody clear!” She heard the sound of the portal before it happened and immediately reached for Taichi’s hand, swiftly aiming to yank both Agumon, Taichi, and herself out of the path of the incoming horse Digimon.

Taichi blinked for a few seconds until turning toward the monitor and realizing that it was glowing again. "If the Chosen shows up, it's highly likely that his/her partner will be showing up too!" Taichi quickly moved out of the way at Anna's insistence and was able to witness, instead of falling prey to, another unexpected arrival.

Unfortunately for Agumon, he hadn't cleared out of the way as quickly as his partner. Beady emerald eyes went wide as he glimpsed to the monitor. The sound of the portal gave Agumon a clear idea to what was probably coming his way.

Taichi's eyes widened as a beautiful, yet completely different from one that he'd met back in '99, horse-like Digimon made his entrance and sorta collided with his own partner! Turning toward Anna, he laughed faintly while sweatdropping a bit at the same time. "At least this situation isn't as embarrassing as ours was, ne?" he asked quietly to the Russian Chosen.

Right on cue, a sharp, "Gwah!" escaped Agumon's mouth. He found a heavy weight pressing down upon his body and promptly flailed his arms about. "Taichi! Anna! Help!"

Taichi turned away from Anna and promptly went to helping out his partner from his flailing situation. "Good thing Hikari, Tailmon and my parents aren't home. I have no idea how I'd be able to explain your arrival to them!"

"Though, Hikari and Tailmon would be able to take it better than my parents!"

Unimon blinked, struggling to figure out exactly where he was and what it was that was beneath him, flailing so. “Anna…?”

“Unimon, get up!” Anna cried, face once more characterized by a light tint of red due to Taichi’s reminder of earlier events. “You’re crushing poor Agumon!” “Oh, sorry! Sorry!” The horse Digimon struggled to get up, wings fluttering urgently.

"Wait...!" Taichi began at seeing Unimon's wings flap, only to hear a loud crashing sound seconds later! The Japanese Chosen held back an irritated groan and replaced it with a nervous grin, a bigger sweatdrop appearing on his face.

"I'm not sure who'll kill me first...Kaa-san for the accidental breaking of her vase or Tou-san for the flowers he got Kaa-san for White Day being ruined!" Taichi worriedly thought while sighing loudly.

Grasping tightly to Taichi's hands, the small dinosaur was finally able to pop right out from under Unimon and into his partner's arms. Gasping, eyes wide, he gulped and looked over to see the broken White Day vase that Taichi's father had given his mother. ".... ah-- I don't think I can fix that..." Agumon pointed out to Taichi with a sweatdrop.

Anna smacked her forehead with the palm of her hand, heaving a heavy sigh. The repeated "Gomen nasai" from Unimon was waved away lightly with something of a nervous sigh as she approached the broken vase, examining the pieces carefully with an expert eye.

"...What kind of glue do you have? Any pottery-type glue?" She asked, checking the sizes of the pieces with due care.

Agumon's eyes beamed slightly. "I have Elmer’s glue. Does that work?"

Taichi made his way over to Anna with Agumon still in his arms. "Agumon was using it earlier this morning to fix my alarm clock...!" Taichi eyed Agumon with a playful irritated glance while putting him down.

"Hmm...that might work. And the pieces aren't too small....can you get it for me, Agumon?" Anna smiled at the dinosaur Digimon before looking up at Unimon and giving him a light pat on his muscular leg. She looked to Taichi and beamed. "I'm pretty sure I can fix it. Elmer's glue isn't the best, but I've got some stuff you can reinforce it with. You won't be able to tell anything happened when I'm through with it!"

"Gomen nasai." Unimon said again, doing his utmost best to keep his wings perfectly still.

Taichi grinned lightly at Anna while making his way toward the door. "Arigato, Anna. And, think you could make your way to the roof of the complex, Unimon? The last thing I need is to explain why I have a horse-like Digimon in my home to any neighbors." Taichi explained calmly while opening the door as wide as he could.

The Digimon grinned cheesily up at his partner and rubbed the back of his head in embarrassment. At Anna's request, Agumon beamed and nodded. "Uhn!" Hurrying back to the other room, he retrieved the children's glue and rushed back as fast as he could. He only hoped that this would work better on vases than it did on alarm clocks. "Here you go Anna." He handed it over to her and watched carefully to see if there were any tricks to using the paste.

"Not a problem." Unimon said, carefully turning to the door and passing through the door way. It was never easy to walk through a doorway--they were always so thin and his size...but after a few years of practice, he'd managed to come up with a few natural tricks to getting his massive frame through.

"Arigato, Agumon!" Anna took the glue carefully and began to assemble the pieces, lining the sides carefully as she began the tedious process of reconstruction. Sticky fingers were going to be absolutely unavoidable...

"Agumon, you'd better go and keep him company. Anna and I will stay here and take care of this." Taichi didn't want Anna's partner to be alone for any length of time, especially after what went down with Catherine and her partner. Leaving the door open just a bit for his partner to exit through, Taichi made his way back toward Anna and watched the process take place with the vase.

Agumon turned his attention to Taichi and, once again, nodded. How rude of him! He felt rather horrible inside for not volunteering himself to keep Unimon company. "Right!" He'd have to learn the tricks and trades of Elmer's glue some other day. Pattering away from the two humans, he exited the door and waved over to Unimon. "Wait up."

“I’m really sorry about all of this, Taichi.” Anna said, linking another of the larger pieces together with due care. She took a finger already smeared with glue and slowly ran it along the crack. “And Unimon…he has a bad habit of flapping indoors.”

Unimon paused in the corridor, waiting for Agumon to catch up with him. “Are you coming, too?” He asked, sounding a bit happier that he didn’t have to go alone.

"It's alright." Taichi laughed while closing the door before returning back toward Anna once more. "You didn't expect to come flying in my arms, nor did you expect your partner to nearly squish mine. Accidents happen and are common with the Chosen, no matter where they live in the world." he explained calmly.

The smaller Digimon slowed his pace as soon as he was at the horse Digimon's side. "Yep! Can't leave a friend by himself right?" Agumon smiled upward then waved his right claw in the air. "And don't worry about the vase Unimon. I'm sure Anna and Taichi will have it patched up! Taichi's mom won't even notice what happened." Ah, the miracle of glue would have to come through for them.

“Yeah…that’s true.” Anna nodded, quickening her pace with the glue and pieces. She smiled again, “Hey…shouldn’t you be at Hanami, Taichi?”

“I hope so.” Unimon replied, walking with Agumon carefully. “It’s been a while since I’ve had any accidents like that…hopefully Anna’s not out of practice!” He said jokingly.

Taichi's eyes widened in shock and disbelief at realizing specifically what time it was. "Sora's gonna kill me...!" he thought worriedly. "Yeah, but I can't leave you alone in my house! My parents don't know about you and Hikari...she hasn't had any opportunities to meet you online yet!"

"Er...well," Anna paused, scratching the back of her head, "I could come with...? Mimi-san did invite me, I just...never heard back from her...don't worry about it."

"That works with me." Taichi admitted quietly. "I suppose Agumon and I could ride in style with you to where we'd planned to meet." He made his way toward the door and opened it, feeling a red tint appear on his cheeks. "After you."

"Okay!" Anna beamed, placing the fully completed vase upright and holding it for a moment. It stayed. She turned and moved out the door, wondering at the case of butterflies that had managed to develop in her stomach. "Thank you." She said in passing.

"You're welcome." Taichi replied, grabbing the flowers and putting them back inside the vase. He was tempted to take one of them but knew his parents would recognize any changes made to the present. Heading after Anna, closing the door and locking it, Taichi yelled up toward the roof. "Agumon! Get down here with Unimon; we gotta get to Hanami now!"

A small chuckle escaped from the other Digimon. The sound of his partner's voice made him snap and look down. "Hanami! OK!!" Was it already time to meet the others?! Looking back to Unimon, Agumon grinned. "Let's go Unimon! We get to eat lots of good food!" he rubbed his belly and licked his lips. The thought of edible food made his mouth water!

Unimon grinned at the thought and paused, lowering his head for Agumon to climb on. "Sounds good to me!" Anna waited for Taichi, allowing him the lead. "How long does it normally take to get there?"

Taichi made his way up toward the roof while laughing faintly. "Normally not that long, but in this case, I'm hoping we won't run into any airborne traffic." The airborne traffic Taichi was talking about wasn't airplanes, in this case, but his fellow Chosen. How was he gonna explain Anna's impromptu arrival to the others, much less Sora?!

"Maybe we can cut the time in half then." Anna grinned, reaching into the pouch at her side and drawing forth two small white cubes whilst following Taichi up. She was excited and it was definitely showing. "Hey, Unimon!" She called, her tone somewhat foreboding...but not in a malevolent manner.

"Why do I have a feeling I'm going to like this?" Unimon said, tail whipping as he turned to wait for the two Chosen to appear.

Agumon tilted his head to one side quizzically at Unimon's comment. What a funny guy. He wondered what exactly the other Digimon could be thinking... or expecting.

"Yeah, I wouldn't mind cutting the time in half, nor would I mind not being the last one to show up at our meetings." Taichi replied, arriving at the roof and noticing his partner already perched on Unimon's back.

"You and me both." Anna said, walking over to Unimon with her hand outstretched. "Alright, Unimon. I've got two sugar cubes here....if you cut the time it takes to get to Hanami in half........"

Taichi blinked in confusion at Anna's reply and stared at her for a moment. "You end up late to the meetings that the Russian Chosen have, too?"

"Most of the time." Anna laughed, scratching the back of her head. She offered one of the sugar cubes to Unimon who took it gratefully. "Even the ones I organize, sadly...but..anyway!" She turned to Taichi and nodded, moving back a bit before mounting the horse-like Digimon. She extended a hand to Taichi, smiling. "We'd better hurry up or Unimon won't get that other sugar cube."

Taichi took her hand and pulled himself up onto Anna's partner, ignoring the faint blush on his cheeks while wrapping his arms around her waist. "Make sure Agumon doesn't fall off, okay? I doubt he could Warp-Evolve fast enough before landing in a dumpster...or a garbage can." he advised with a light smirk on his face. Silently, he was screaming at himself for feeling like this. He already had Sora! He couldn't screw this up...! Not with her!

Agumon turned his head back to Taichi and shook a claw at him. "Taichi-!" he huffed in embarrassment. Under his breath, he lightly commented something about definitely being able to Warp Evolve fast enough... if the garbage can wasn't that smelly or small.

"Not a problem! You ready, Agumon?" Anna secured both arms around Agumon and clutched her partner's yellow mane gently. She bowed her head only for a moment to mask the slightest hint of a blush. What was it with those stupid butterflies in her stomach!?

"Ready!" The dinosaur piped in and secured his hands carefully on Unimon.

Taichi quickly put his headband around his forehead and held on tightly to Anna once feeling Unimon take flight. "Hanami...here we come!" he thought confidently to himself while silently hoping that what he was feeling would go away...very, very soon.
