. . . i need direction to perfection . . .

Saturday was prom. I had to be at Gerlinger Hall at 8 am to help set up all the decorations (tables, lights, etc.), which was horrible cause I didn't go to bed until like 1:30 on Friday. Anyways, set up was really fun. I aided Hannah while she strung fabric really cool-ly over some lights.

Then we just sort of stuck palm trees in corners, hung some nets, strung some lights...all that good stuff.

Hannah made a HUGE, amazingly awesome pirate flag for the stage.

The center pieces for the tables were pretty sweet if I do say so myself.

Uber-artistic Elise made some treasure maps to put on the walls of the hallways. They turned out amazingly as well.

The entrance into the dance room was incredible. I wish I could take credit for, or even know who to credit...but I don't!

Brian wanted me to take a picture of him...so here's his little shining moment.

Towards the end of set up I started getting really bored and hot because it was about 700 degrees in there! Plus there was a U of O fraternity volleyball tournament going on right outside Gerlinger and I really wanted to be there instead! So to keep me entertained, Megan did backflips.

Then I had a little cam-whore session with the wall length mirrors...

After we finished setting up, I went home and relaxed for a while. I painted my fingernails and toenails (woo freaking hoo) and watched a couple episodes of Felicity. After my little relaxation period I went and got my hair done. It turned out way better than I expected.

Claire and I got ready together and then headed over to Elise's house to meet her and Melanie, Jessie and Elizabeth. A mini photoshoot happened:

Sexy shoes!

Quick picture with my dad.

Dinner was next. The 6 of us went to Oregano's and had some of the best bread ever (the food was good too)! We were there from 7:30 to 9:30 and probably laughed for an hour and a half straight. Melanie and Claire kept getting their hair caught on the hooks behind them and we kept laughing at them. I've never had so much fun in my entire life.

I saw this woman's ugly-ass dress through the window and absolutely couldn't resist documenting the experience so that others could enjoy it as much as I did:

Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures at the actual dance or of the festivities post-prom. After prom Elise, Claire and I went to Brian's house. The whole house was dark and smelled like burnt omelette...probably because before we came the guys had burnt an omelette and then just let it sit there. It was disgusting. After about 20 minutes of standing around and watching people who were already completely shit-faced, we got bored and left. So much for my first party huh? Elise, Claire and I ended up sitting in my driveway for a half hour talking until we finally decided that we were tired and should just give up on our hope for after-prom excitement. We definitely shouldn't have left Brian's because I hear there was some interesting stuff that went down.

Damn!
