I'm trying to get into the habit of writing my posts here, might as well make use of my account since I can easily cross post it at LJ.
I found out a few weeks back that my second cousin Kase was going to be coming over from Europe to visit with the family. He hasn't been here in 31 years...so lets see, none of Oma's kids were married now grand kids. And now all the girls are married and there are 19 grandkids [apologies if I've said this before...can't find the post but I feel like I've typed this already]
I hate big crowds [just too antisocial/easily wound up by a lot of noise to deal with that many people. How do I deal with Cons you ask? it's a mystery!] but clearly having never met Kase before I absolutely had to be there. My day hadn't been going too bad but as soon as I walked through the door I completely crashed and desperately needed to get out of there.
Thankfully my uncle who was in charge of buying the soft drinks was considerate enough to pick me up some diet Pepsi and Yay! there was rye in the house so I mixed myself a drink and tired to enjoy myself. Which I managed to do!
It's really too bad that Kase isn't going to be here for much longer as I'd love to have more time to talk with him. He'll be stopping by tomorrow morning to say goodbye before heading back to the airport. He's a professor and was asked to give several lectures in Ohio, stopping over here was an opportunity I couldn't afford to miss.
