The Same Coin [7/?]

I know most of you probably think cliffhangers are evil, but they really do help me with writing the following chapter. When I end with a cliffy I know exactly how the next chapter is going to start, and from there the rest flows relatively easily. However remove the cliffhanger and it can be difficult to decide where to start. Which is the problem ( Read more... )

Hey there.

I just found this, and I gotta say, really liking it so far. I love seeing the SGC from the Winchester's point of view like this. It's overwhelming, slightly creepy and operates enough outside the law to give you goosebumps. That the SGC can make them prisoners without an arrest, or a lawyer, or anything. I love Stargate but seeing them from an outsiders POV, definitely scary.

And you've got some interesting threads and places to go. It'll be interesting to see what happens and how long the brothers are forced to stay, since even if they give up Ash (cross fingers and hopes they don't) They still know everything about the SGC and I can't imagine Hammond or his superiors being very happy about that, or willing to just let Sam and Dean on their merry way. I mean they'd have no control over the flow of information, even with a non disclosure agreement because the brothers aren't exactly easy to track down and arrest if they don't hold up to it. I just really like how you have two very different aspects of society, the big, over-arching government agency, and a couple of guys from the fringe society which is hidden and they have no direct control over. Of course both parties want to protect their own, but those goals are in conflict.

Err, yes. So now that I have rambled about fictional politics, heh. Great story, I look forward to more.

PS. I really like how sam was disturbingly cool headed (to jack) given his situation, and how he clearly think out all his options before he spilled the beans. I love seeing Sam being scary smart. That and Dean in the MRI freaking out and freeing his arm were my two favorite scenes so far.

Thank you so much! I haven't done all that many crossovers [only worked on two others] But I don't think I could have asked for two shows that were better set up for crossing over.

However as you pointed out, the SGC doesn't make it easy. I spent a while after chapter 4 wracking my brain trying to come up with a clear way the boys could prove their side of the story. I needed to get a reason why they wouldn't just be locked up somewhere for the rest of their natural lives ^_~

The demon attack helped with that.

I'm glad you like those scenes, writing Sam's conversation with Jack was one of the funnest for me. I've really been looking forward to writing Dean and Jack interacting together, but so far that two of them haven't been making it easy for me ^_~

Thanks again!

It is an awesome crossover set up! and you write it so well. :) I think one of the themes from Stargate that works so well is the dynamic between the explained and unexplained. Like how the primitive people on other planets take technology as magic because at some point it becomes so advanced it's indistinguishable. Then with Sam explaining the use over iron and EMF, (loved that btw) you can get a glimpse of how the same principle applies. hunter's don't know why an exorcism works, beyond taking it as a religious fact, so they think of it literally. What I love about SG-1/SPN crossovers is that it could be either. It could really be magic, or it could be a science to advanced to understand.

Anyway, I look forward to more demons and aliens, and seeing that Dean and Jack interaction as well, they're so similar, I can see why they'd not be easy to write. probably at each other's throats or something. :)

Good luck.
