In Another World
Kamiki/Shida
This is basically a collection of AU drabbles I have been itching to write. Since I can't write multichapters just yet, I'll leave this as some sort of list of fics I could write.
Doll Master (Based on
THIS)
Kamiki Ryunosuke, a famous toy maker in Japan, had a secret he could never tell anyone. It was something so unbelievable that if he ever say a word of it to anyone, he will surely be branded as crazy. Or they would say that he was tired and hallucinating.
But really, he isn't. Her smiles are real. So is her laughter. Her touch, as cold as porcelain, proves that she was not human. But the way she looked at him was so full of love, full of intensity, full of human emotions.
"Okaeri!" She, no, it smiled at him like usual, taking his coat and hanging it beside the door. "I ordered sushi like you said. Mou, why don't you let me cook?"
He couldn't help but smile. She was pouting again. Ah, no, it. It was pouting again. "Tadaima." He patted her head, a gesture she obviously liked since she smiled wider. It, damn it, he reminded himself again. He cannot let himself get carried away by her smiles. She was not human. "Shida-chan cannot cook because I don't want her to get in danger." He answered with a gentle smile. What if you melt, or something?
Eyes shining with happiness, it glomped him while giggling. "Master Ryu is the best!"
"Hmm" he hummed while nodding quietly. "Should we eat then?" Even though I'm the only one who can eat.
She nodded eagerly and let go of him. "I'll bring out tea!"
He sat on the floor, beside their low table, while waiting for her to come back. "Argh..." He messed his hair in frustration. "Ryuu, stop calling her 'her'!" he muttered. "She's not human. It's not human!"
The sliding door opened. "Master, your tea!" She sat beside him and poured some. "Oh and..." She crawled to the side, where the cabinet was. She opened it and took out a box. "A gift."
"Eh? Why?" He asked in confusion.
"It's your birthday." She replied, smiling a tender smile. "Did you forget?"
"Ah..." A look of understanding passed his face. "Oh. I forgot. Thank you." No one at the store greeted him. No one remembered. But she did. He opened the box and saw a pair of red gloves. "Handmade?" His eyes widened.
She shyly nodded, and if she was human he was sure she would blush. "It's a bit... it isn't beautifully made and I could only do this much because I can't buy outside... so... anou, I hope you like it anyway..."
Laughing at how cute she looked being all nervous, he said "I like it. A lot. Thank you."
She smiled once again, that energetic smile of hers that would never lose to anyone, and took out a candle from her pocket. "Jaa, even though we don't have a cake. Let's have you make a wish!"
"Haiii." He took the candle and placed it on top of the sushi box. Taking the lighter from his bag, he lit it and closed his eyes.
"A wish, okay? Something you really want!"
He smiled, nodded, and blew the candle. "Finished." He looked at her direction, and saw her staring intently at her.
"What's your wish?" She was just like a child, curious.
"I can't tell you. If I do, it won't come true!" He laughed as she pouted and moved closer to him.
"Come oooon~!" She poked at his sides.
"I can't tell you!"
"Just a hint!"
"No!"
The contented smile is still on his lips as she gave up and opened the sushi box instead.
Oh what I would do, just to make that wish come true. I just want you here, real or not. Human or not. Just forever staying here with me.
Time Warp (Based on
THIS)
Shida found herself in another place again, probably in another year. She shouldn't have jumped that high, she thinks as she looked around the unfamiliar houses. A couple of people passed by, and they looked pretty... well, all she could say is she's sure she isn't in 2012.
She walked around, searching for a convenience store. She needed to know what date it was without looking like a weirdo. Her safest bet was to look at newspapers.
"Onee-chan, are you lost?" A cute girly-looking boy, about eight or nine years old, walked to her, holding two transparent umbrellas. "Do you need help?" His eyes were wide as he innocently asked.
She wanted to say no, but lying was bad and this was an innocent kid who would not judge her anyway. "I am a bit lost. Do you know where the nearest-" Before she could finish that sentence, a rain drop fell on her forehead, effectively distracting her. "Ah. Rain..." She panicked, knowing that she did not have anything with her. She left all her things back at her home. At Tokyo during 2012.
"Here." He smiled and gave her his spare umbrella as he opened his. "I was about to give it to my onee-chan but she rode the train already." He sounded older than he looked. "Where are you going?"
"Convenience Store." She said, accepting the umbrella and opening it. "I need to go to a convenience store."
"Eh..." He looked down, thinking hard. "Konbini... Ah!" As if remembering something, he smiled brightly. "It's near. Let me show you the way." He pulled her hand with his spare hand, chattering as he walked. "Why are you going to a konbini? Do you want to buy something? Do you live near here? I haven't seen you before."
She giggled, amused at how energetic he was. Besides, wasn't he taught that talking to strangers is bad? "Is it okay to bring me there? Won't your parents worry if you don't go home?"
"Oh don't worry about them. Mom is shopping and dad will just ask me to play with him if I go home early." He spoke as if it was a tiring job to be a child. "Anyway, are you from here? Do you live near?"
She shook her head. "Not really. That's why I'm lost. This isn't Tokyo, right?" she asked.
"Un. This is Saitama." He grinned as he looked up at her. "Then you're a visitor in our town! Great~ You'll like it here!" He laughed heartily. "Is Tokyo big? I haven't been in Tokyo."
"It's okay. The trains make it seem like it isn't all that big." She smiled fondly as he looked at her with interest. "I can go anywhere quickly!"
"Uwah, the trains..." His eyes sparkled in amazement. "I want to see..."
"Ah here it is." She looked at the door of the convenience store, seeing a pile of newspaper near its entrance. He let go of her hand. "Thank you um, what's your name?"
"Kamiki Ryunosuke. My friends call me Ryuu."
"Thank you Ryuu-kun." She smiled brightly, patting him on the head. "Well then." She closed the umbrella and said "Here, thanks." offering it back.
He shook his head, smiling knowingly. "You don't have to give it back. We have lots." He laughed.
"Then I'll give it back the next time we meet!" She said. Whatever year that is.
He nodded before walking away.
...
She looked around the road. No one was near. "Yosh..." It was time to get back to 2012. She really didn't need anything here in 2000. She just wanted to sleep in her own home. "1, 2, 3... Gooooooo!" She ran as fast as she can, before jumping.
"Ah!" She looked around. "Not Tokyo..." She turned her back, planning to find a convenience store again.
"Oof!" She bumped into someone and fell on her butt. "Ah, are you okay?" A low, manly voice spoke.
She looked up to see a familiar face. A face she saw just a few minutes ago, and yet it was a different one. A much older one. A much more handsome version.
"Are you lost?
Where is dad? (Based on
THIS "Mama, mama," Yuma pulled at her sleeves, eyes wide and curious. "Why don't I have a dad?"
Shida frowned, looking at him with a strict expression. "You have a dad. Ryuu-kun is just..."
"Where is dad?" He looked like he was about to cry again. "Why don't we have dad's picture?"
She sighed, feeling depressed and helpless. Ryuu-kun, how do I explain it to him? Why aren't you here? Can't you just go home and live with us? She knew it was pointless to hope for him to be here. It was useless to ask for something so impossible. He was an outlaw. A special being being chased by the law, and by evil organizations too. He left them precisely because he loves them. "Anou ne, your dad... Ryuu-kun is just like a superhero. That's why he can't be here with us. He wants to make sure his enemies won't know about us and hurt us."
"If dad is a superhero, then why can't he just protect us?" It was an innocent question and yet it hurt her deeply. She asked herself the same question every night before she sleeps. "I want to play with dad too, like my friends do."
She kneeled down in front of him and hugged him tightly. "Dad wants to protect you too, Yuma. But he's afraid he isn't strong enough. He doesn't want to risk it."
"But I want to see dad..." He started sniffling. "It's my birthday tomorrow and yet-"
"Don't cry... please don't cry..." She could feel herself breaking as he continued sobbing. If Ryuu was so powerful, if everyone in the government thinks he can do anything with his powers, then why can't he be with his family? Why can't he make his own son happy?
That night, she cried herself to sleep.
And when she woke up, there was a note beside her bed. "I'm sorry" it said. "I love you."
Beside Yuma's bed was a picture of Kamiki Ryunosuke, and there were three amusement park tickets. On the other side of the picture, it was written: "Yuma-kun, I'm sorry for being a failure of a dad. Here's my present for you."
"Is this dad?" Yuma, completely forgetting his sleepiness despite not being an early riser, looked up hopefully at his mother. "Is this him?"
"Yes." She felt something inside her stir. It was like her dream of having a complete and happy family will soon be realized. She felt like this was a start of a bright future for them. "Jaa, let's go to the amusement park, then?" She took the tickets, smiling at the fact that there were three of them. It was obvious. He'll come. No matter what happens, he will finally meet his son.
On a bus nearby, Kamiki Ryunosuke sneezed. "Did they wake up already?" He wondered aloud, looking at the scenery outside. "Wait for me, ne... Mirai, Yuma. I'll definitely see you today."
I guess that's it for now! :D Did you like it? Cause I did enjoy writing this~! <333 They're all potential multichaps that I haven't found the time to write XD
