Matt came to visit at the beginning of November, and I'm just now getting the photos posted.
Let's start with our trip to Hakkone and Izu with my Japanese family <3
We drove there on Nov 3rd (national holiday- culture day) and eventually stayed at a nice hotel with a wonderful relaxing hot spring.
On the drive to that hotel, we stopped for lunch, and to take some pics of the amazing view.
FUJI SAN!!
SOOOO beautiful in real life, it almost looks fake.
We took a 'family photo' in front of it, too.
Then, we ate lunch- okaasan's delicious homemade bento!
mMMMMm!
Before driving to our next destination, I hugged a statue
And Matt tried to read a sign
We ended up going to some active volcano that smelled really bad, and had it's own natural hot spring that they cook eggs in. The eggs turn black! =o
I was joking that Matt's butt is really the cause of the awful smell >;O
Here's Matt, holding the bag of eggs Okaasan bought
Eating one eggs makes your life 7 years longer! Too bad I only had a half =(
Raar!
More Volcano pics:
*points* please notice the man dressed as a woman, flight attendant or something. Funny and strange... wtf. Too bad I didn't get a pic of the front... when I cross-dress, the first place I think of going is a volcano, DON'T YOU!?
hehe <3
We went to eat at a conveyor belt sushi place after this (sry, no pics) and then to the hot spring.
The next day, we stopped by some random seaside park. It was cold but nice.
I love my Okaasan <333
The last stop we made was to the top of ... somewhere XD
It was nice up there, and we took a cable car to get there. This important sign was posted where we waited for the car:

Waiting to go back down....
The trip was a blast, and my Japanese family totally rocks for taking us. They really liked Matt and we all had a great time together. Like one big family! Some of the funniest parts of the trip (for me at least) were when Okaasan would speak to Matt in Japanese- CLASSIC! HAHAH she kept forgetting he doesn't understand any Japanese, and poor Matt would get this confused look on his face every time.
We went to the Meiji shrine at one point
It was huge and beautiful. Very easy to reach! I can't believe this was my first time going!
There's a place to wash your hands (and face)
A place to hang wishes and prayers
The shrine itself was gorgeous
There was a Taiko drum on display too
(nice face I'm making here- "did you take it yet?" lol)
There were some nice flower displays too
I can't wait to visit again!
Karaoke night!
Other pics
Dennys for melon soda
We met Solid Snake in Akihabara
Ate delicious crepes in Harajuku
And had a kick-ass time in general! I can't wait until Matt can visit me again next year ;__;
On that note, I'll leave you with two more amazing Matt pictures. First, in Shibuya at night:
and one in front of a Nintendo ad inside the Yamanote line train:
I have a few random cell phone pics left to post, so check back for those later. Hope you enjoyed!
