Oh wow. This is like a modern-day "Faust" - and that's definitely a compliment, cause to me, Goethe's Faust is the most well-written piece of literature the German language has ever seen. It's utterly complex and uses more settings than an average season of 24, but the main story is the devil making a bet with God that he can lure God's favorite human being (Faust, a scholar) away from the righteous path. In a moment of desperation, Faust actually makes a pact with the devil - the devil will be his servant as long as they're on Earth and Faust will serve the devil in Hell.
Just so you know where I'm getting my comparisons. ;)
I still hope Tony will actually get to Jack and just make him pay for everything he's done. Also, even the Creator can't be too pleased about a guy like Jack running around, killing people based on nothing but his own (slightly twisted) sense of justice.
Most awesome parts about this: 1 - the chess game. You should totally put a little part of that game into every chapter. 2 - I know I might be repeating myself here, but... No matter what you write, the last lines always get me.
So, yeah. You know I love you, I love this story and whenever you decide to write more T/M or C/R, I'm here to read it. :)

I LOVE FAUST! And yes, I agree with your review of it. I wish I could speak/read German so I could actually go through an untranslated version. I can't say that this wasn't inspired sub-consciencely, :)
I liked writing the game so don't be surprised if I take your idea about using it a lot. I'm not sure it'll fit with every chapter (especially once we get into the action stuff) but they will definitely finish this "game."
I really really hope I'm able to write more stuff for you guys. I have to write in small quick chunks now and sometimes it's just soooo slow. But, I'll get there, lol.
