My dear friends,
I want to tell you about my travelling for the last weekend.
My boyfriend is a journalist and he had to go on business trip through Russian villages. We decided to go together, so I got in Izborsk, Pskov region - is one of the most ancient Russian towns, mentioned in the chronicles in 862.
Here you can read more about this village
http://www.towns.ru/towns/izborsk_e.html The trade fair of Russian handmade article was held in this village and it was amazing for me. I live in beautiful Saint-Petersburg, where live 5 million of people and it is a second capital of today’s Russia. Sure we have some traditional holidays and there are a lot of museums about Russian culture, but to my mind St.Petersburg couldn’t be called a really Russian city due to this city was build in 1703 by Peter I who was fond of European culture. So I was very glad to visit this city and this event.
There were Russian choir and dance, stands with handmade articles and a lot of people were dressed in Russian folk costumes, but people who arranged and visited this eventwere very important for me - they were open-hearted and calm but merry. I rested among them.
I should interrupt my tale and come back to my job, but I promise you continue this theme.
I hope you will understand my feelling and share my good mood.
Have a good day.
