So when I found at the ocean at midnight, with moonlight and love, it inspired this piece for Takarazuka. Definitely going to sleep now.

Asako. Tell me about Asako.
She’s … What do you want to know?
Anything. Everything. I know she’s going to be my partner just for one show, but it’s my Sayonara show, Osa.
You’ve seen how she is - you were just in a show with her.
She shared roles with two other people. And they’re her classmates, Osa. They spent half their time giggling over something one of them did or said - not that they weren’t hard working, I just, you know, didn’t have much time to learn about her.
Mm.
And I didn’t think I had to, really.
But now she’s going to be playing Elisabeth.
Yup, my Elisabeth…

I … I really don’t know what to say.
Well, what do you think her Elisabeth will be like? So I know how I should play der Tod.

I didn’t mean it like that. It’s just - never mind. Asako, as Elisabeth. … She’d be a very strong Elisabeth, of course.

Yeah. She … She’ll probably very emotional. Especially at the start.

Definitely. And she’ll be very passionate, her Elisabeth. Asako is never one to give only part of herself.

Well, she’ll try to stay as independent as she can, especially after losing the people she loves.
You mean like, her father and her children?
Yeah, that’s what I mean. She’ll close herself off. She’ll act like everything’s all right. She’ll push everyone away. But, you can’t let her. Don’t let her push you away.
I won’t. She tries to, I know, but in the end, der Tod wins her love.

She’ll be the best partner you could ever have. She’ll notice things that usually get overlooked, finish sentences you didn’t even know needed ending … She’s very good at improv, you know, so you don’t have to worry about that.
I hope not. Elisabeth’s a hard show to try to improv.

Just be gentle with her. She may act like she’s unbreakable, but she breaks just like the rest of us, but usually only when no one else is looking. So, I guess … that’s it. About Asako’s Elisabeth, I mean.
