The waiting room door was opened by a pile of snackfood. Behind the various foodstuffs, however, was Billy, Teddy, Tommy and Vision. Billy dropped his load and scampered back out the door.
"Billy has a cunning plan." Teddy explained. "He just needs to explain it to the electro-magnetic guy outside and then he wants explanations. And I quote, 'preferably in English'."

"He's on to me, is he?" Rowena said, tearing into a burger. She crammed the whole thing into her mouth and managed to swallow it with the minimal amount of chewing. Dignity be damned, she was hungry. "Fine. He'll get his explainations, and then he can explain to Jeffery just why he knows." Another two burgers were devoured as she spoke. "Ciggies?" she said hopefully, actually pausing to chew on her forth helping.
She reached out and grabbed a soda, gulping the sweet, fizzy drink down.
Meanwhile, outside, Billy stood in front of Victor, hands in his pockets. "Mrs. Xanathos made it pretty clear that she's not going to spill with what's going on until we're all together," he said. "I can get you into the hospital without you setting off alarms or anything, if you'll let me."

"Ok, so Molly is now in a hospital? I guess we get to test the new cloaking device on the leapfrog after all."
Chase perked up and ran over to the controls and started the leap frog up. He flicked the cloaking switch and pulled up on the joystick.
"You may want to buckle up sugar lips, we are testing out frogger mode now."
The leapfrog jumped back alley to back alley, avoiding major traffic. Chase had a big grin on his face for the fact that it was finally working with him again. He landed it on the roof of the Hospital and paused.
"Wait, how are we supposed to get in contact with the living Sparkplug to get us down there?"
Re: Time Conviently Passes...vision_yaJune 7 2006, 21:58:44 UTC
The Vision looked upwards, curiously.
"[Pardon me a moment.]" he said, drifting out the door and towards the stairs. He figured that he probably shouldn't risk phasing through electronics in a hospital. So it took him some time to reach the roof. Just to be on the safe side, he slipped back into his becoming-favored teenage holographic appearance. Short green hair, medium skin-tone, almost-yellow hazel eyes and a predominately green wardrobe. The yellow coat would not be making another appearance.
He peered out onto the roof and raised his eyebrows. There was something there, but his sensors told him that there wasn't anything at all. Cloaked, obviously. But he recognized it from the Avengers' files - the Runaways get-away vehicle. It probably contained Gertrude Yorkes and Chase Stein, and likely Gertrude's dinosaur.
He propped the door open and headed towards the ship, stopping at what was hopefully a non-threatening distance.

Gert looked out the window at the teenager standing on the roof a little way away from the leapfrog, "I will say, nice flying and then I will say, should we know him?" Gert squinted through her glasses, he seemed to be waiting. Of course, maybe he knew something about Molly, it was very curious that she was in a hospital. Gert seriously hoped that she, and everyone else on their team for that matter, was okay.
Gert sighed and unbuckled her seatbelt, "Well, one guy against the four of us, I think we can take him if he attacks us." Old Lace grunted in agreement. Gert stepped out of her seat and motioned for Chase to open the hatch.

Chase smiled at the driving comment. He turned and looked out the window. "Great, looks like we got another robot, or at least some kid dressed up like one. I'll go out there Gert."
He pushed a button which let down the ramp. He pulled out his blade and kept it close to him.
"You wouldn't happen to have seen a girl with a pink hat around would you?"
Re: Time Conviently Passes...vision_yaJune 8 2006, 19:35:00 UTC
"[Molly Hayes came through surgery just fine.]" the Vision reported. "[I can take you to her room, if you want. Karolina Dean and Nico Minoru are there as well.]"
The Vision didn't have anything to fear from Chase's knife. He wasn't trying to cover anyone, like he had been when the Nazi Bug Woman had cut open his leg, so he could just let it phase straight through him if Chase attacked. Which the Vision didn't exactly think was likely in the first place.
Re: Time Conviently Passes...getaway_manJune 8 2006, 19:59:02 UTC
"Molly was hurt?!"
Chase's voice became elavated. He curled his hand into a fist. He may act like he didn't like the little girl, but she had become his family. If someone hurt her, he would make sure they payed. He looked at the robotic man, staring him down.
Re: Time Conviently Passes...vision_yaJune 8 2006, 20:09:13 UTC
"[As I said, she is fine now.]" Vision repeated as he lead the way towards the stairs. "[Her powers failed once she reached the point of exhaustion and she was hit by a bullet. One of her lungs collapsed, but we were able to get her to the hospital before anything worse occurred. But she is certain to recover just fine now.]"
Not that telling them so would help much. Vision knew that if their positions were reversed, he wouldn't believe that one of the others were safe until he saw it with his own eyes. He felt a twinge of guilt for not having dropped out of the fight and escorted the little girl to the hospital right off, but he had thought that someone else was going to.

"[If I recall correctly, Victor was right there with the rest of us, trying not to get stabbed, shot or blasted by the psychotic immortal with the knife.]" the Vision said, glancing backwards at Chase's tone. "[Anyway, the recovery room is just through the waiting room here.]"

Victor figured this sounded like his best chance to check in with the girls personally, so he wasn't about to object. He wasn't about to be unprepared, either. "This isn't going to involve turning me into a Get Well Soon card, is it? Because I wasn't trying to piss you off earlier and our spellcaster turns people into things when they piss her off. I'm still finding koala fur on my favorite shirt."

"... I have got to hear that story later." Billy said after a few moments of thinking about it. "'Cause there is no way it could possibly be as crazy as I just imagined. Just hold still and let me insulate you from the equipment..." The blue glow around Billy's hands lept onto Victor, settling over his skin before winking out.

Victor tried to use his powers and found it too difficult to bother with. Even better, no magical pink goop had been involved. He really loved New York.
Re: Time Conviently Passes...billykaplanJune 8 2006, 20:11:38 UTC
"Woo-hoo. Dr. Strange had better look out. At this rate, I might get his job yet." Billy said with a hint of a grin, leading the way into the hospital and back up to the metahuman ward.

Tommy tossed Mrs. X the pack of cigs Teddy had bought for them. He then pulled out one of the burgers the boys had snagged for themselves. "So," he said around a mouthful of meat, bread and cheese. "Who's missing and do we need to go look for them? Y'know, after Sparky brings pigeon boy back in."
"Billy has a cunning plan." Teddy explained. "He just needs to explain it to the electro-magnetic guy outside and then he wants explanations. And I quote, 'preferably in English'."

Apparently, everyone else had thought so too.

"And where the hell was Victor during all this? Or was he actually the cause of it?"
He continued to follow Vision down the staircase.
