Going to be Super Heroes

Billy was digging in his bag as everyone approached. There was no sign of Hawkeye, but he wasn't about to wait around for the adult supervision. His hands were shaking a bit as he scribbled out a quick note and dropped it on the grass, followed by a rock to hold it down. At least the archer would know where they were going. "Okay! Who's coming ( Read more... )

"What's wrong?" Cassie hurried over to Billy. She didn't know what had caused Billy to suddenly know something was happening but judging by his voice and actions he didn't have time to explain that. She looked back. Kristoff was staring at them dumbly. "Are you coming?"

Kristoff reached a hand inside his clothes and activated his suit. It was similar to his old outfit, only with the metalic appearance toned down. "Of course." He had underestimated the Young Avengers. Clearly they had a complex alert system if they could spring to action after bickering and lounging around in a park.

Kate pulled her costume out of its usual place in a compartment on the bottom of her quiver and abandoned her crosstrainers and socks next to Billy's note. She went to stand just behind and to the left of Billy before pulling her boots and pants on over her running shorts, then held her bow and quiver with her legs while she put her top on over her sports bra, maneuvered her bra off, stuffed it into the clothes compartment and donned her purple shades.

"I'm ready," Kate said, and wondered how close she'd come to her current record time for changing into costume. It felt like a top five at least.

Vision snapped out of his...funk or whatever it was you would call it. Billy was upset, something bad had happened and whatever the hell was going on between Cassie and this Kristoff didn't matter at the moment. Someone needed help and that was something that the Vision could do.

Teddy squeezed his boyfriend's hand. "Deep breaths, Billy." he said soothingly. "Whatever's going on, you can't face it like this."

Teddy was trying not to panic himself. He didn't know what had suddenly set Billy off. Was it his family? Billy's little brothers, his father, his mother? Teddy thrust thoughts of fire and screaming from his mind. That wasn't going to help either. Billy needed him to stay calm, dammit, and Teddy was going to be calm!

Billy took a few short, shallow breaths and squeezed Teddy's hand tightly before pulling away. He looked around. Still no sign of Hawkeye, but everyone else was there, even Kristoff. Time to go and be heroic. "We're gone." he announced. The world melted away into blue, and Billy's hair stood on end as the power crackled and sparked and swallowed them all. Then there was disorientation as they were jerked from the field into the Devil's Due.

The tables had all been pushed back against the wall, making just enough room for them as the appeared in the shop, and dropped the last foot down to the floor. Billy hit hard, his feet going out from under him, but he wasn't down long. He sprang to his feet. "Eliza! Eliza!"

"Don't shout." a weak, testy voice croaked from behind the counter. "Fuck's sake, like my head doesn't hurt bad enough."

Billy pushed his way past the others and around the counter. "What the hell- you're bleeding!" He reached out a hand to wipe at the blood leaking down from the gash on Eliza's head ( ... )

Billy didn't say anything as he launched the disc into the air. Under other circumstances, he might have been one for witty banter. But not tonight. He locked his eyes on the ground below, matching it up with the map clenched in his hands. They flew up over the buildings, and they were closing in on where the black circle said Rowena would be when the shockwave it.

Billy let out a shout as the power went out in the city below. The disc flickered ominously, and the boy brought it down quickly. His head was pounding.

Fuck.

"Billy!" Teddy called out, dropping like a rock and nearly crashing into the pavement in an effort to get to his boyfriend faster. It was probably best that no one had taken him up on his offer to carry them. "You okay? What the hell just happened?" Just point me in the right direction and I'll make sure that it pays for hurting you, I swear.

((OOC: Should this power outage do something to Vision too?))

((OOC: Might send him a little bit buggy. Also, we now switch over to the Little Girl in the Big City thread. Anyone keeping up with Billy should be able to see them very soon.))

"I don't- God, it was so big," Billy said, clutching his head. "We're close. Just a couple more blocks. C'mon." He shook his head, trying to clear it. He took a few unsteady steps forward before finding his legs again. "God... I think that was Mrs. X." He started running, feeling a bit more steady.

Tommy scowled. He should have ran. He should have just damned ran. If God had intended him to fly, he would have given him Billy's powers instead of superspeed. He looked over at Billy, scowled some more, and felt a slight bit guilty. Although he wasn't exactly sure why that particular emotion was popping up now and for Billy of all people.

"Sparky, you look like shit. Let those of us who know how to run check things out up head, okay?" And with that he zipped up ahead.

((OOC: So...I'm a little confused. Should we start posting in the other thread or stay in this one?))
