It was a common misconception amongst people that Layla Miller knew everything. And though Layla herself liked to pretend she did know it all, this wasn't the case at all. The things she knew were always connected, somehow. Like, she knew it was Gloria Santiago calling that day because in the end it all brought them to Singularity, but whether or not it was Monet's manicurist on the phone wasn't within her field.
Another thing was that when she had a lot on her mind, the smaller premonitions tended to be pushed to the back of her mind, ignored. Now, walking through Mutant Town, she could still feel Rowena Mox-Xanthos eyes glaring daggers at her even though she was miles away.
Other people stared at her as she made her way home, but she was too immersed in her own thoughts to notice. She had done what she needed to do - chosen the better of two evils by confronting the immortal like she did. Still, the proverbial burden had not been lifted from her shoulders and that was a bad omen. And what bothered her the most was that she didn't know what it meant.
So to sum it up, Layla Miller did not know everything. If she did, she would have know she was being followed, and she would have locked the door to X-Factor Investigations.
