Florecent lights buzzed gently in the gunmetal grey corridor as Dr. Vanessa Sinesis walked down it, looking in on her newest specimines. A small smile tugged at her cupid bow lips, which she caught in the wall's reflection. The smile widened a bit as she regarded her still smooth and pale skin, and her carefully styled red hair. She smoothed a

"What? Can't put your money where your mouth is?" Dr. Sinesis asked, her voice sweet as poisoned honey. She stepped forward, her arms resting easily at her side. "Can't take one little woman without your powers, boy?"
She stepped into the cell, ignoring Teddy.
This was a mistake.
Unlike Tommy, Teddy knew how to fight without powers, even if he was still feeling rather disoriented. And he had figured out what Kate meant. He dove for the red haired woman, grabbing both her wrists in his hands and squeezing as hard as he could. He was gratified to her something that sounded very mechanical break.
Vanessa frowned at him. "Stupid child," she chided, bringing both her legs up between them and shoving them into Teddy's chest with all her strength. Teddy gasped as he felt his ribs cracking.
Nobody that small should be so strong.
Vanessa smiled. "If you don't let me go, I'm probably going to kill you." She pushed a little harder, and Teddy let her go with a cry. He stumbled back, gasping for breath. He could feel his ribs sliding together.
Vanessa was ignoring him again, her dark gaze focused entierly on Tommy. "Well? Aren't you going to try something foolishly heroic? Or are you actually smarter than you look?"

Calm down, Bishop. The Vision's probably getting a rescue party together already. Whether he's gone to the Avengers or going after more kids from the failsafe program, he's definitely going to get here eventually. We just have to last until then. Which probably means going easy on the more dramatic escape attempts... Kate felt her knees getting weak, but she pretended they'd turned to stone instead and stayed solidly on her feet. If she had to wait for a rescue, fine. But as soon as she got past this stupid forcefield, that foreign-sounding doctor-thing was going to see what her power was, collar or not.

If she weren't so determined, Cassie would blush. She sounded, well, she sounded like a stupid 14 year old girl trying to impersonate Kate. But if she actually could get the woman to turn on them they had a shot at getting out. Both Kate and Cassie knew how to fight without relying on their powers, although Kate was the only one experienced in taking down villains with superpowers.

She snorted, laughing softly. It might have been a pretty laugh, under other circumstances. "Now, Thomas, shall we have our little fight, or shall I move on to the young lady who seems to eager to fight your battle for you?"

"Alright. Billy, get as close to the wall as you possibly can. I'm gonna go for it." Zack made his way up to the force field that kept them prisoner. Streetlight Manifesto's "The Big Sleep" started running through his head.
"Three..." He placed his hands over the collar, ready to crush it. "Two..." Zack squeezed his eyes so tight, he saw stars. "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few or the... one."
The explosion that followed reverberated through the entire compound.

His head ached horribly as he chanted. It felt like his brain was going to explode any moment and dribble out his ears.
And then, oddly, in the middle of the explosion, the pain stopped. It was like something had suddenly clicked into place. He was surrounded by the familiar blue glow and welcome tingle of his power.

“I don’t suppose we can talk about this? I mean…I know stuff.” Not really. He didn’t know anything about anything, aside from Teddy being an alien and…well, that could be useful actually. After all, he’d promised to be quiet as long as they were quiet about him and he wasn’t positive, but he was pretty sure being captured was a loophole…wow. He was so going to hell. But at least he’d go there without being cut into little pieces, hopefully. “In fact-”
The explosion derailed his thoughts. He could almost feel the ground shake. He stumbled back, almost tripping over Teddy. He crouched in front of the other teen, shielding him incase of…something. It wasn’t a friendly thing so much as a It’d be a good idea to keep his potential leverage alive thing. And, if he died now, maybe he could use this as a leverage to not go to hell. Did it work that way? Had someone just lost their head?

Cassie felt the collar loosen around her and quickly raised it over her head and set it on the ground- just in case it decided to explode if dropped. The humming sound came back on, and she could see the faint glow of the forcefield come back on before dying out again. This might just be her only shot, even if she couldn’t see anything on the other side. She grew back to normal size and darted across the forcefield’s border.
Cassie looked around, trying to make out the figure of that woman as the smoke started to clear.

Beneath Tommy, Teddy stirred. He was starting to feel a lot better... and a lot like grinding his captor's face into the dirt. His ribs were sliding back into their proper alignment, so whatever it was in the collar that kept their powers from working had been blown out.
Good.

The smoke rolled higher, giving Kate a clear view of everything just below Dr. Sinesis's shoulders. Figuring this would be her best opportunity for an effective attack, Kate got her feet beneath her body and lunged. Moving as quickly as she could, she grabbed the doctor's nearest arm and brought her shin up to press against the woman's rib cage, then swung her other leg up and over to bring Sinesis down by her throat. It took just over a second, and when they hit the ground Kate arched her hips to hyperextend the elbow as much as possible.
"RUN!" she commanded, and hoped the others got away before the doctor managed to get free.

With the smoke clearing from her vision, she could see the flicker of the force field as it deactivated. Now was the time to grab Eliza and get out of this cell. "Come with me! We need to get out of here!" Sofia turned to the girl, motioning for her to follow her and wasn't planning on moving until she did. All the while, the wind was doing its job clearing the additional smoke from the area.

The smoke and dust were still pretty thick around him, but he could hear more havoc outside. Someone had given the order to get the hell out of Dodge, and someone else was trying to round everyone up, and for some reason, the wind was whipping around the cells. He couldn't hear much else, which worried him a little.
As the smoke and dust began to clear, he could start to make out the shape of his captor, walking very slowly and calmly in his direction. Despite the fact that he didn't feel like moving for another week, Zack wasn't going to give up. "C'mon, b*tch. You don't f*ck with the Mighty Metal Midget." he said feebly from the floor.

Vanessa Sinesis made an annoyed noise in the back of her throat. "Stupid, stupid girl," she said, sending a spell coursing through and around her. The electrical shock should be enough to deal with the child who thought she could pin her, and she could feel her body changing, hardening. If these children were so eager to die, then so be it. She would feed their corpses to her daughters when this was done.
Eliza looked at Sofia with dark, uncomprehending eyes for a moment, then nodded slowly. She climbed to her feet and followed the girl, ignoring everything. She moved like a sleepwalker, in fact.

“You’re better now? Great great.” He said, licking his lips. Smoke was swirling, wind was coming from somewhere and shoving it about, and everyone was leaving their cells as their powers kicked back in. Chaos. Tommy loved chaos. He wished he could get this damn collar off but he didn’t want to risk blowing up his head unlike certain other people. “Soo…you guys do that regrouping thing you do, I’m gonnarunaheadandmakesureit’sclear.”
He was gone almost before he said it all. He ran past the slowly assembling group Cassie had her collar off, Kate looked like she could use a little help so here was hoping someone else noticed, Billy seemed preoccupied with his metal friend and the two girls he didn’t know were on the move. He didn’t care. There were people other than that lady here and this time Patriot wasn’t around to lecture him.
