So, Sunday night was probably the biggest concert I'll ever see in my life. I saw Oasis w/ The Redwalls opening up.
Tim and I drove up to Nashville Sunday to witness legends. Having listened to The Redwalls' CD, I was not looking forward to them so much. But when they come on, I got impressed. Their sound was phenomenal, almost CD quality. One guy had on a sweet white suit. I knew a few of their songs and they sounded really, really good. I'll give their CD another shot.
After their set, I went upstairs and spent $40 on a t-shirt and poster. Both with boobs portrayed explicitly, I might add. Then it was time. I was about to see one of the biggest rock bands ever. They played a lot of stuff from their latest album, Don't Believe The Truth, which I didn't like and couldn't sing along to. Their sound wasn't quite as good as The Redwalls, but they also had to be louder to the insane sound level of the audience. The classics were played, of course. I took some pictures, but don't know how they turned out. I can't even begin to describe the concert. To the onlooker, it may have appeared as though I wasn't having fun. But, I was watching one of my all-time favorite bands. It was a surreal experience. I have listened to these guys for a long time and here they were. And I was watching them. They had 5-6 shows in the U.S. and I was there for one of them. That will probably never happen again for me. Liam appeared as though he wanted to be anywhere else in the world but there. He and Noel got into a spat, of course. They hate each other, it was bound to happen. That's more than likely why they only have 5-6 shows. Can't stand each other for much longer than that. They both kept talking into the mic between songs, but I couldn't understand a single word of that nonsense they call the English language. I wanted to hear more old songs, but I guess they have to promote the new CD. I'd still do it again.
We arrived home at approximately 1:00 a.m. and I promptly went to bed. I awoke 3 hours later and went to work for 12 hours. I'm fuckin' tired.
P.S. At the merch booth, all of The Redwalls' merch was advertised as "The Redwoods." Not the actual merch, just the signs above it. I thought it was funny.
