This weekend was the best weekend I've had in a looonng time. I'll try to recap.
Friday was the Auburn show. I had planned on riding with the guys, but they were leaving at 4:00 and I didn't get off until 5:00. It turned out that Mike was going to be able to go with them either, so we decided to go together. I was a little worried about this. Mike can be a deep individual and I have felt this wrath before. So, three hours kinda of scared me. It turned out to be ok, so that made me happy. We got to Auburn about an hour and a half late. But that's ok because I had the lead singer and they obviously couldn't start without us. Friday was Tye's first show as well. That guy is all that is rock. He is so good. You can see and hear the passion in his playing. The kid is literally out of his seat on his drum hits. The show rocked as usual. And Stacia Janis came!! That made me very happy. I haven't seen that kid in fo'eva. Good seeing you, Stacia. I say that like she actually reads this. Anyway, after the show, everyone left except for me and the band. We were staying in Auburn the night. We went back to Aaron somebody's girlfriend's apartment and hung out for a while. Aaron and Rachel left and we all went nighty-night.
Woke up the next morning an hour early thanks to Daniel. Nice, kid. Daniel is a funny, funny individual. He holds nothing back and is awesome for it. We went to eat at Moe's, which was good. Not as good as Chipotle, but good. About now is where all the awesomeness began to really happen. Mike and I were walking back to the car and noticed the stars in the sidewalk. One of them was "Mike Donahue." Priceless picture time. As soon as I figure out how to get those from my phone to the computer, they'll be up. When driving off, we see about three cop cars with their lights on and the cops are huddled around this guy laying on the ground. Still not sure about that one. I like to think he got hit by a car. So, we headed to Daniel's grandparents' house. That place was really nice. Big rooms and all. I felt like I was in Pleasantville. It was like a perfect little town. After that little excursion, we headed up to Ft. Payne. Longest drive EVER. And Mike was asleep the majority of the time. I listened to the same cd's over and over b/c I couldn't change them due to Mike putting my case in the back seat. When we finally arrived in Ft. Payne, we were about 4 hours pre-showtime. Everything got set up and we sat around for a while. For some reason, the venue put pillows all over the floor. Tye and I had a contest to see who could slide the farthest. Tye won. Then Tye misspelled "rain." We're still working on those colors and numbers. After 1st grad class, we had fun in the dressing room. I found a box full of marching band hats, so we all put one on. Then, the band discovered the shopping car full of costumes. Mike proceeded to put on a tutu, and sweater vest, and the marching band hat. Priceless picture yet again. Sometime before that, a projection screen had almost decapitated Daniel, causing him to spill beer on his crotch. Wetness on the crotch makes on appear as though he or she has urinated on themselves. We laughed. A lot. Mike threw more water on Daniel to compensate....or something. So, Daniel threw beer back on Mike. Mike went crazy and poured the rest of his bottle of water on his crotch. Wetting himself, so to speak. Again, another priceless picture. The show was one of the best I've seen in a while. I wish more people could've been there to see it. After pillow fights and sliding around on the pillows some more, we headed to Waffle House.
While walking into WH, I noticed an individual sitting the corner with some friends. That individual happend to be Randy Owen, the lead singer from Alabama. I stopped everyone, pointed it out, then we went in. We were going to say anything to him b/c we didn't want to be "those fans." Some guy walked to him later and started talking to him, so THEN Daniel moved in for the kill. He told Randy about the band and everything and he came over and talked to us. We gave him a CD. Maybe he'll like it. I had the corniest picture EVER taken with him, but Tye missed my thumbs up. Nice, Tye. Ruin my moment. Again, once I figure out the phone thing, all this will be up. Mike stayed awake the entire drive home, so that helped me stay awake. I saw gas for $2.12 on the way back from Ft. Payne. Of course, this was AFTER I had filled up for $2.35. Butt.
Thanks for a completely awesome weekend, EA.
