sorry to bore you again

This week has been nearly perfect so far. I mean, there have been some bumps, but I can consider it fantastic.

Yesterday, Asher turned 2. I slept over on Thursday night because Sarah and I went to Publix to make some stuff for an impromptu b'day party. I slept in Jonah's bed. Apparently, in the middle of the night, he went to his mom and dad's room to use the bathroom and wanted to sleep on their floor. Sarah said that he couldn't because someone special was in his bed. She told him to check again and he saw me and ran back and was all excited. He fell back asleep and in the morning when we woke up, he couldn't contain his joy. it was silly and awesome at the same time. We had breakfast and then Sarah dropped us off at our house and went to work. Jonah had a field trip with school to "last-year's village" and really enjoyed himself. Jesse and I took Asher to visit Aunt Jo. That was really nice.

So, then we threw the party last night. It was good. good food, good cake, good company. the boys stayed up ridiculously late and we soooo funny. Jesse and I got them ready for bed and tucked them in. They were asleep almost instantaneously.

Today we kinda lounged around. I started to clean my room, but our new neighbors in TreeTops were throwing a Christmas party and we scored invitations. I'm pretty sure I've mentioned it before, but one of the neighbors works at Longhorn Steakhouse and when there are hurricanes, he brings home steaks for everyone because they'll go bad at the restaurant just like they would in our houses. He brought some steak home for this one. Lots of freaking steak. I can't even describe how good it was. I guess this is another positive to moving. Steak dinners to celebrate anything and everything. And, we're already like some of the neighbors. It's pretty awesome.

Jonah and Asher got loopy and silly again around 10, so seeing how I wasn't really in on any of the adult conversation and Sarah has this awesome book at her house, I walked the boys home, put on pajamas, got them to sit on the potty, brushed teeth and read them some stories. I tucked Ashy in and then snuggled with Jonah until he fell asleep. I read and dozed off a little and then Sarah and Jason came home and I came here.

This is really just what i needed after that semester. Hours and hours of special time with the boys. Something to have between us that they can remember forever. Of special unknown sleepovers. and after Christmas when Sarah and Jason go to Chicago, nights filled with banana splits in bed. Making memories is just the best. especially with little kids because you can do just about nothing and it is still fantastically special and memorable.

Anyway, I am pretty beat and I am looking forward to another day just like these last few. I don't think I need to mention how much I love these two little boys but I will ;) I am so lucky to have 2 nephews who can make me feel better with a smile, a laugh, a terrible joke or a hug and a kiss and a snuggle.

feeling loved, vacation, nephew love, :)
