After talking with Stephi, I decided I really want a cat. More specifically, a kitten. I would name it Holden, after Holden Caulfield, because I love Catcher In The Rye.
My old debate teacher named her cats after literary figures. I think hers were from Lord of the Rings or the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. I don't remember what they were called, though.
I want to do that. From now on, I shall name my pets from books I read.
So, i will have a dog named Padfoot(Harry Potter), a fish named Babel(The Hitchhiker's Trilogy),a mouse named Mr. Jingles(The Green Mile), a rabbit named Lennie(Of Mice And Men), a wolf named Wolf(The Talisman) and a crow named Randall Flagg(The Stand).
Ok ok, I know the last two are improbable. Whatever.
And if a book has no animal that can become a pet, I shall just get a cat, because they are my favorite animal. I will have a cat named Lestat(The Vampire Chronicles), a cat named Tyler(Fight Club), a cat named Alex(A Clockwork Orange), a cat called Erik(Phantom of the Opera) and a cat named The Savage(Brave New World). I also pretty keen on Voldemort(Harry Potter again).
I could also do movies. I could have a fish called Wanda(A Fish Called Wanda), a hawk called Mordecai(The Royal Tenenbaums) and a monkey called Jack(Pirates of the Caribbean).
Again, last two, pretty improbable.
And more cats! Oh, I'm shaping up to be a real creepy cat lady. I'd get one called Veruca Salt(Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. also could be the band), a cat called Black Mamba(Kill Bill), a cat named Mr. Blonde(Reservoir Dogs), a cat called Roxie(Chicago), and a cat called Dr. Frank-n-Furter(The Rocky Horror Picture Show).
I could also get a venus fly trap and name it Audrey Junior (the Little Shop of Horrors).
okay, now I'm naming plants. This really has to stop now.
