Colonel John Sheppard looked out into the night sky of the place he missed so much. It took long enough, but he was glad he was back here....where Atlantis belonged, the Pegasus Galaxy. Standing on the balcony staring up at the star, he realized something was missing. He turned his head to the side and saw Elizabeth wasn’t standing there.
It’s been seven years since he left her behind on the Replicator Base. He still had hopes to find her, even when they were back on Earth. She was out there somewhere and if there was a will there was a way. And now that he was back he could continue his search.
“God,” He whispered, “give me a sign she’s still-“
Before he could finish his sentence the sound of an object materializing filled the night air. He reached for the gun in his pocket and turned on his heels, expecting it was some alien intruder even deadlier than the replicators, but it wasn’t it was the last person he suspected.
“Elizabeth?” He said as the gun tumbled to the ground. She was alive and she looked exactly the same as she did when she was left behind on Atlantis.
“Hello John,” She responded.
“How?”
“Let me explain…”
Seven Years Earlier:
Elizabeth watched as Ronon pulled John out of the hallway and back to the jumper. She was upset she had to make her commanding officer leave her behind on another planet to die, especially since she knew John well. He was never going to forgive himself for this and the constant self blame would break him down piece by piece.
But as selfish as it sounded she couldn’t think about him and his self pity. She was doing this for Atlantis. If they her and John…the system of Atlantis would fall apart. It was better one of them….than both of…
Her thoughts were interrupted by the sound of a blaster and the disintegration of a replicator. Elizabeth growled, great, John disobeyed her orders and risked his life coming back to save her. Before she could even speak arms pulled her backwards.
Disoriented, she stumbled back onto the tile floor as she watched a woman with blonde curly hair shut the double doors.
“SWEETIE, START THE TARDIS!” She screamed in what seemed to be a heavy British accent.
“ALREADY ON IT DEAR!” A male voice replied.
Elizabeth turned her head and saw a man dressed in suspenders and a bow tie run around this circular structure using a few levels and pullys. The ground beneath her shook before it went at a steady speed.
The curly haired woman then walked over to the young oddly dressed man and wrapped her arms around him.
“Another successful mission sweetie,” She said moving in to kiss him.
“River,” The man with the bowtie said, “we have company.”
Elizabeth looked over at the couple with wide eyes.
“Who are you people?” She asked.
Present:
“They said their names were River Song and The Doctor,” Elizabeth continued on with her tale, “and that they were timelords or something like that. Anyway they said that they needed to bring me home to you, something about you being some great hero and I needed to be there to support you.”
The story sounded weird. Two random extraterrestrial beings just coming to save her for no reason whatsoever, but it didn’t matter. She was here alive and well after all these years of missing her.
“Well whoever they are,” John said wrapping her arms around her waist, “I am happy they brought you home to me.”
