Who's Right? Who's Wrong?

I had started writing a whole thing about protesters, Gaza, Israel, and the Palestinians.

I was going to start writing about this and that regarding Gaza Strip vs. Israel, and a little back-story entailing what I know of things. I realized that I don't know enough to be writing anything on the subject.

I do know that I'm extremely disappointed in what I see over in the middle east. One side is saying "they've been shooting rockets at us for the last 8 years." The other side says, "We'll stop when you do." The only thing I know is that the country that used to be part of the Ottoman Empire eventually ended up as Palestine. Then there was a war in the region where some things that may or may not be related to current events happend, and it became Israel.

Sounds like the Palestinians want their land back.

I can certainly understand why the Israelis are pissed off... Punch me enough times and I'll start hitting you back. But that doesn't mean that when they punch you, you should punch their kids or innocent bystanders. Another thing to note, Israel blew up the UN Headquarters in Gaza City the other day. I'd say the UN's got to be pretty pissed about that.

The question I have is, who's the terrorist and who's the victim here? US Media is woefully biased and horrendously one-sided when it comes to reporting the news. Sadly, most of my exposure to this has left me feeling like Israel is the 800-lb gorilla here, which does not look good for them.

Back in the late 70's to early 80's after we moved to Modesto, I saw was that Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia were bad places to be. I had no desire to ever visit those countries, and the truth I saw was that if you didn't escape those places, you ended up dead. In the 30 years since, my views on southeast Asia has changed considerably... Only to be replaced with similar views about the middle east.

That place scares the hell out of me right now.

And again, I admit I'm under informed, but I have to ask... Who is right and who is wrong here? Or, more bluntly put... who's the terrorist?

I'm going to stay here and be confused for a while. Thanks for visiting and Keep Coming Back!!!
