I looked over the upcoming releases for the Star Wars d20 RPG, after having begun my review here on my last post, and found that two books are set to come out this year: Starships of the Galaxy and The Force Unleashed Campaign Guide. The second book is based on the upcoming video game, which is about the Jedi Purge after Order 66, and the time between Episodes III and IV. This got me thinking, what books would I want to see? Here there are, from 10 to 1:
10. Droid Catalog -- Droids are important to the Star Wars Universe, and Saga Edition has made them more playable as Heroes. Now, we need a book with more options, some more standard droid models, and possibly some droid-specific feats and prestige classes.
9. Arms and Equipment Guide 3.0 -- The third d20 book that would bear this title, this one would use the new Saga Ed rules, but not be limited to the movie eras (like the last two were). Instead, this book would be divided between the major eras: Tales of the Jedi Era, Knights of the Old Republic Era, New Sith Wars Era, Rise of the Empire Era, Rebellion Era, New Republic/New Jedi Order Era, and Legacy Era, with the prominent equipment changes over the eras.
8. Chancellor Valorum's Guide to the Senate -- A book for the Noble Class, partly, but also a major setting guide, talking about the various aristocracies throughout the Galaxy and the various eras. Provide some new Noble talent trees, and some Noble-focused Prestige class.
7. The Explorer's Guide to the Galaxy -- A book for the Scout Class. Also setting information about exploring the Galaxy in the various eras. Possibly this would be a good place to talk about some of the exploration-based organizations and primitive species. Also, provide some new Scout talent trees and some Scout-focused prestige classes.
6. Voska the Hutt's Guide to the Galactic Underworld -- A book for the Scoundrel Class. Also setting information about the various criminal, smuggler, and bounty hunter organizations. Also information about Hutt space, Nal Hutta, and Nar Shadaa. As with the other class books, provide some new Scoundrel talents and Scoundrel-focused prestige classes.
5. Master Odan-Ur's Guide to the Force -- A book for the Jedi Class and Force-Sensitive characters. Also contain information about the various Force traditions throughout galactic history (of course giving special attention to the Jedi and Sith traditions). Also contains new Force-user talent trees, new force powers, techniques, and secrets, and Force-using prestige classes.
4. Admiral Ackbar's Guide to War -- A book for the Soldier Class. Also contains information on major military equipment and organizations, and contains the mass battle rules long missing from Star WARS RPGs. Contains new Soldier talent trees and Soldier-oriented prestige classes.
3. New Sith Wars Campaign Guide -- 2000 years before the rise of the Galactic Empire, the Sith returned and began a thousand year war with the Republic and the Jedi that nearly destroyed them both. Only the Battle of Ruusan stopped them. At the time of d6 Star Wars, this was the most covered era that didn't get a sourcebook. So there is none. We need one. It was the events in this war that everyone talks about in the prequel trilogy, including the events for which Darth Maul wants revenge.
2. Knights of the Old Republic Campaign Guide -- 4000 years before the rise of the Galactic Empire, the Mandalorian Clans invaded the outer reaches of the Republic, and a small group of Jedi led by Jedi Knight Revan defied the orders of the Council to defeat them, leading eventually to the Jedi Civil War which saw the Sith reborn and the Jedi nearly destroyed. This book covers the era of the Mandalorian Wars (the KotOR comic), the Jedi Civil War (KotOR 1), and the rebirth of the Jedi under the Exile (KotOR 2).
1. Legacy Era Campaign Guide -- 125 years after the defeat of the Galactic Empire, the New Republic is gone, the Galactic Alliance crushed, the Jedi scattered, and the Empire in the hands of the reborn Sith Order, and its leader, the enigmatic Darth Krayt. Covers the era leading up to and surrounding the Legacy comic series, the new frontier of the Star Wars Galaxy.
