Gakuto woke up slowly and yawned, stretching his back before bounding off his bed and onto the floor, moving his ankle around, he nodded, satisfied. It was healed, he'd known that for days, but stupid Shishido was over protective. He made his way out of his room and came to a halt in front of the couch when he spotted some red hair....who in the world? "Shishido! Who's on our couch!" he called back before remembering that Shishido wasn't around in the morning.
The voice obviously woke Eiji up, and he stirred, moaning in objection to being rattled awake like this, and he sat up stiffly, his body a bit sore from the brawl last night. He blinked, trying to get his eyes to focus, as he glared over at the offending party that had woken him up. "Someone who can answer himself, obviously," he muttered, trying to shake the sleep fogginess out of his brain.
"Okay then," Gakuto answered undeterred, flipping his hair with an air of superiority, "Who the hell are you?"
"You're not very polite." Eiji frowned and got to his feet. "I'm Eiji. Shishido brought me over last night. And who are you?"
"Mukahi." Gakuto said, not bothering to give him his first name. He gave Eiji a once over, human, that's what he thought. He didn't really like humans....or elves. Being a half could do that to you. What was Shishido thinking? He didn't even bother to ask him!
"Well, hi, Mukahi," Eiji muttered, not quite approving of the look the other kid/person/whatever gave him. And... Now what did one say?
"So what? You got in trouble and Shishido decided to bring you home?" Gakuto asked, turning around to the kitchen to rummage through the food and see if he could find anything to eat, leaving Eiji to either follow or stay where he was, didn't make any difference to Gakuto.
"Yeah, kinda like that." Eiji shrugged. "Not sure why he helped me because I really didn't ask for it, but it was kinda nice of him, you know?" Then again, he wondered if the other kid knew kindness even if it hit him over the head.
Snorting, Gakuto continued to search for something before pulling out an apple, that was Shishido for you. He may act all tough but he could be such a pushover sometimes. "Yeah, that sounds like him" After a moment of thought he pulled out a second apple and walked back out, tossing one of them at the other redhead before taking a bite of his.
Eiji quickly caught the apple and bit into it, curiously studying the shorter redhead. "Have you known him long, nya?"
Gakuto shrugged, "We've been traveling together for a few years now." He bounced the half-bitten apple on the end of his finger, ignoring the searching look the other was giving him.
Eiji bit into his apple and grinned as the sweet taste filled his mouth. It was perfect; juicy and sweet, with just a little tartness left in it. "How old are you?" It seemed like a logical question after all.
"Two hundred, something or other. " Gakuto answered, he forgot the exact many years....his family wasn't one for celebrating birthdays and whatnot. After the look the other gave him at the answer, Gakuto glared lightly before pulling one side of his hair back, "I'm a half, if you're wondering."
"Half of what," Eiji asked, curiously. Human, obviously, but the other half could be just about anything, right? "I'm whole!!"
At that, Gakuto scrunched up his nose and giving the other a disbelieving look, wondering if the idiot was serious. "Shadow Elf" he said slowly, pointing at the end of his ear where it came to a point.
"Shadow Elf? Do you have any powers, nya?"
"Powers?" Gakuto gave him a very blank look, "What are you talking about? Elves don't have powers..." Not any that he knew of anyway. He didn't find what he could do unusual....
"You know... Like magic!" For Eiji, it seemed quite obvious.
"I'm not a mage, if that's what you're asking." Gakuto blinked a few times. What was with this guy? Didn't he know anything?
"But you're not fully human," Eiji insisted. "So... There has to be some things you can do, right?"
Eating the rest of his apple, Gakuto shrugged, thinking about it for a moment, "I can...see in the dark and disappear at night?" It didn't seem all that unusual to him since he grew up that way, but then again, Shishido couldn't really do that so...maybe it was?
Eiji's eyes widened and he blinked owlishly at Gakuto. "You can??!"
Taken back by the reaction, that the other had Gakuto paused for a moment before answering , "Yeah....so?" When was Shishido coming back? This was getting weird.
"You can disappear?!" Eiji looked like a kid who just learned that he got to travel across the world and see unicorns, or something like that. "I... That... Wow! WOW!"
What was with this kid? "Uh....thanks." He said, a little put off, "Only at night though...." to most of his elf-kind, that was a major set back, though him being able to be out at day wasn't a set back to him.
"What do you mean, only at night? Isn't it awesome enough that you can, nya?" Eiji simply didn't understand.
"Most shadow elves can disappear in the day....if they ever went out during the day." Gakuto said, his painfully thin shoulders moving up and down in a small shrug. "Don't you know any of this?" he asked the other, wondering what sort of rock Eiji had been living under.
"Nope." Eiji shrugged. It wasn't as if he ever had gotten any schooling about different races and such. Grown up a street rat and then working at the shady circus, Eiji's education was lacking at best. "So what?"
"Well...then what in the hell are you doing traveling?" Gakuto asked a little shocked, "You can't just go out there without knowing anything!" Sure, when Gakuto had run away himself, he hadn't known much, but Eiji didn't know that.
"I'm on a mission!" Eiji frowned. "It's really important too! And I can take care of myself just fine, so there!" Well, perhaps. The night before sort of hinted at something else, but Eiji never was one to bother with details.
"Uh huh...somehow I doubt that." Gakuto said with a flat tone, before smiling slightly, "Well, if you want to go get yourself killed it's not my problem." Gakuto stretched slightly before deciding to make his way outside.
"Right, as if!" Eiji huffed and flopped down on the couch again, figuring he could sleep a little more before deciding what to do. What an annoying little... Never mind the fact that Gakuto was like 200 years older than him. Pfft!
