Life of luxury

May 30, 2006 23:02

I feel great. I get to stay in an apartment off of madison ave. on the upper east side of Manhattan. Central park is just 2 blocks away and so is Valentino, oscar de la renta and channel. Still i haven't been able able to buy anything. Though i do feel akward since this is my uncle's apartment and i've never met or talked to him. But the doormans make me feel at home since they notice i'm a guest. The sad part about the area all the babies have nannies and all the doormans walk the dogs.

I love it here, the lights, the shops, the people, and especially the fashion.
Day 1:
NYC Ballet, at the Lincoln Center, Times Square, Grand Central Station.

Day 2:
Hairspray at Neil Simon, and MoMA.
MoMA is the best muesem ever. So many Picassos, VanGoghs, Miros, Monets, Modrians, Frida. Hairspray was so funny and great. Yah i still wanted to see Wicked. They also have the wedding singer and tarzan on broadway.

Day 3:
Empire State Building, Guggenheim
So many different languages were spoken in the lines. A cute little middle eastern sung i think in arabic or farsi. I started getting a Brooklyn accent when I would argue with my dad. The Guggenheim is such an interesting place, designed by Wright, and it had a Jackson Pollouck Exhibit. The most interesting thing about his work is that it forces your eyes to move everywhere around the canvas involuntarily along the lines.

Day 4:
Yale
Gorgeous, Amazing, but rather deserted. Got some one on one time with the cute tour guide since i was the only prospective student. The rest of the people were just there to look at the campus. I never knew someone would want to go on a campus tour just to look. But what else can you do in New Haven.

Day 5:
NYU, Times Square with Old friends, El Barrio, Chinatown, Wall Street
I think i saw Danny Matthanson ( Hyde from that 70's show) today at NYU. I had a little debate camp renunion today. I went to my friends school in the hispanic Harlem. It so much different than Riverwood. It is more diverse in terms of the people and distribution.

Day 6:
Columbia
GORGEOUS and potential

Everyting is in NyC and if it is not it comes to you. I need to come here more often. Lets hope i establish a good relationship with my uncle.
