I've notice a pattern in my college visits, something has to go wrong
Emory at Oxf- stomach ache
UPenn- 4 blisters on my feet
Swarthmore- A rain shower occured during our campus tour
Haverford- Missed the train, had to take the taxi, who didn't know where he was going, ended up paying $50 when it should have been $12, an 1hr late for the campus tour.
Yah so this one lady came up to me in the mall, when i was happily eating my cupcake alone in a food court, and said" do you believe in God?"
Me: I don't know
Lady: Do you believe in unborn babies?
Me:What?
Lady: Have you ever been pregnant?
Me: No
Lady: I'm 7 months pregnant, with twins, and i haven't eaten in 19 days. I'm taking the amtrak across the state, will you spare me some money to buy pizza over there?
Me: Umm, my parents have my money. (she leaves)
**Parents come to sit with me***
**Lady comes back**
Lady:Have you asked your parents about lending me some money?
Me: uh... uh... no, not yet
Lady:Mam will you please spare me some cash, i haven't eaten in 19 days, and i have twins?
Mom: Will you come back later i'm trying to spend time with my family
Lady: but please i'm begging for food
Mom: Well i don't want to give you money
Lady: don't you want my babies to live, i haven't eaten in 19 days, please
Dad: That's enough i'm trying to eat peacefully, please leave ***as he opens up this big meal of mongolian beef***
**Lady leaves**
I felt bad, but most likely she wasn't pregnant or her babies were already dead. 19 days is more than 2 weeks which is about the time you start the stage of dying. She seemed fine, execpt her hands were shaking like a coke addict. But there are places where she could have gone to get food in shelters for pregnant woment, and the owner of the b&b i'm staying in also created an organization for homeless women. I'm still skeptical of her case. If she did believe in god she wouldn't be a single mother she would have a husband with her. also if she knew she was 7 months pregnant and had twins then she must of gone to the doctor and gotten checked out. Therefore she also had the money to do so, or she was just lying. She also had the money for an amtrak ticket, usually those trips provide food. Poverty is a bigger issue in Philadelphia it seems than in atlanta, but maybe i don't notice poverty that much in atlanta b/c i'm always driving in a car, sheltered this epidemic.
